Re: Baby names

I've been doing a lot of indexing in the past week or so, and I keep finding names on the 1940s census that are kind of outdated. The more I do it, though, the more I like the names. But many of them would probably be a bad idea. Like Eunice. (Take that, Genuine!) It's also given me a new appreciati...

Waking Ned Devine/The Parting Glass

There's a version of the song (the Parting Glass) in the middle of the movie (Waking Ned Devine) where someone is singing it as he walks down the street. Maybe Pig Finn. I searched and searched myself and couldn't find a copy, but if any of you can, I will be super impressed. And then I will buy it.

Re: #67698 - older women, younger men

There's currently a guy 5 or 6 years younger than me who's doing a lot of flirting with me lately. I'm in emotional shock. That's a big age gap. I wonder if he knows how much older I am than he is.

Also, you were right, internet people. Community IS kind of wonderful. Did you doubt the internet?! No, of course not! It just wasn't on Netflix instawatch. So I waited until my friend loaned it to me. And then when I couldn't open the files, I started streaming it elsewhere, which I really could h...

Surely no one would mistake what I said for true. And you, you're just making things up. That's even less realistic!

Re: #67786 - Don't cook for a man, etc.

I don't like deliberately testing your romantic interests like that either. But that passage seemed more about not worrying too much and not feeling entitled to make your boyfriend a gourmet home-cooked meal from day one of your relationship than about testing him. I'm just fine with being yourself ...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

I don't know, there's still all the fun of who's defending who, and then the added element of trying to recreate who was where at the time of the murder. It can get pretty intellectual. But all the arguing just gives me a headache, in either game. I prefer the physical bit. And what part of it would...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

What's murder in the dark? A group assembles in a dark house. A few are randomly chosen as murderers, but no one else knows who they are. The lights are turned off, and everyone mills around. A murderer can run his finger across someone's throat, "killing" them. The dead person falls down...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

Fact: I love playing murder in the dark. Fact: you and I should be friends. I will warn you, however, that I am the best there is at that game. There is nobody better. I'm serious. I am not actually excellent at it. But I do enjoy hiding in dark corners and creeping people out a little. Is that bad?

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

After listening to recordings of my friend and I acting out scenes over and over, I was reminded that my voice sounds like a hypercaffeinated twelve-year-old's. I wish I had a sexy Lauren Bacall voice like Uffish Thought. I really hate phone interviews/job inquiries for this reason. How would anyon...

Re: three hours of church

I've taken to bringing old books and creating blackout poems lately. Maybe not the most reverent, but it keeps me from getting too bored, and I can still comment if I have something to say. I also doodle a bit. I'm not good at it, but yes, sometimes church is boring city. Though I prefer Sunday Scho...
