Re: Plan B
Yeah, sorry about that, Marduk. I didn't mean to imply that you were saying that. I think your point is a good one, and I've thought basically the same thing.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Note the lack of a "50" in that last sentence! Different series! I know for a fact that at least one person I've recommended that book to did a double take at the title. Haha. Eirene read Shades of Grey (and loved it) a few months back and I teased her a few times about the title. Though ...

Yeah, that's basically what I was thinking of. Sorry, I guess that's technically a "pregnancy." I just find it mystifying that we're so concerned about all of this, and yet it happens so much without even realization. Yeah, especially if you include an egg getting fertilized but not impla...

Re: VCRs- still have one?
Wait, was "family home" supposed to mean our parents' house? I took it to mean mine and my wife's house, but I see a lot of answers about people's parents...
(I'm not sure my parents still have a VCR either, but they do have a TV. And a DVD player.)

Nope. Though to be fair, we also don't have a DVD player. Or a TV.

There's also the issue that there's no way of knowing how many of the people signing the petitions are actually from the state named in it. I strongly suspect that the people who signed it are made up of a mix of residents who agree, residents of other states who agree, residents of other states who...

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to
Read Slaughterhouse 5 last night. It's a really interesting read, especially all in one sitting. Vonnegut is a brilliant writer. Yeah? I read it a few months ago, and was pretty underwhelmed...which was disappointing, given how many good things I'd heard about him. I also read Cat's Cradle and Welc...

Re: Cat allergies
Another possibility: I have a family member who got a couple of totally inexplicable rashes over large portions of their body, including torso, arms, and neck, and after a bunch of research (and asking a doctor) they ended up deciding that they were most likely viral, not allergic. (In this person's...

Oops
Sorry about the disruption...I was making some changes to the Board board in preparation for an upcoming move, and accidentally screwed something up that took it down. I'd planned on a nice, seamless transition in the middle of the night at the end of the week, but oops. Sorry about that. :) That sa...

Re: Another question about marriage
This is clearly all conjecture, but suggesting that there will be no polygamy (or polyandry) is the same as saying that exactly as many men as women will reach the highest degree of celestial glory. Now, I don't doubt that God could arrange this...but I can't think of any way to allow for that while...

Re: Does vomit smell like flowers?
I sometimes think orange juice has a vomitty taste. Also, my daughter has vomited five times (so far) today, after eating a smoothie for breakfast. My house smells like fruit. Hm. The closest I can come to imagining that is if you drink orange juice right after brushing your teeth. Somehow that com...

First of all, thank you, Laser Jock. I am quite moved and very flattered. Second of all, thank you to everyone who answered, or who has ever answered a question like this one. These types of questions are so, so hard to address in any way that approaches adequacy, and I appreciate the willingness t...

Only 3 questions...though I have more (perhaps a dozen more?) that were asked before the system started keeping track of who asked what.
And this doesn't count all the times I asked writer friends questions off the Board.

Dr. Broomhead is awesome. He's one of the most inspiring professors I had at BYU, plus he's a gifted teacher. (Not that I have tons of experience in a choir, but still.)C is for wrote:Ooh, I did love University Chorale. With Broomhead. I took it ... 4 times? 5 times?

Haha. Thanks, Gio. :) Mico, thanks for the example! Yeah, the smallest characters there are only slightly bigger than the ones here, but being simplified helps them not be just a blur. I have to say that character-based languages seem like such a painful fit to computers (or typewriters, before), bu...

鐘means bell. So, time bell. Or you could say 鐘錶,Bell display. Just curious, but is it actually possible to read those at the default size on this forum? Or would you have to increase the font size or something? Because to me, at least, all the strokes are completely indistinct at a normal size. (Gr...

Question #69091 When did everyone start using Google Chrome? I'm a Firefox user myself, but I thought that IE still had the largest share of internet users, followed by Firefox and then Chrome. Has Chrome really taken over? I tried Chrome and actually liked it quite a bit, but my wife uses Chrome a...

And here I thought we were talking about intimacy before (and within) marriage, in general.
I agree that we shouldn't speculate about specific people's private business, but I think there's plenty of room to discuss the topic without going there.
