Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
My parents' ward is doing all music as far as I know. It probably depends on whatever the bishop thought was best.

Color me a skeptic, but I wonder ulterior motive, if any, he has. Shortly after the election, there was a short article that reported that McMullin had met with Orrin Hatch in Washington and Hatch was planning on having this be his last term as a US Senator given his age. If anything, McMullin now ...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I just wish there was a better word for it. Or that "partner" was a more widely accepted term for unmarried but committed relationships, so people wouldn't feel so weird about it. When in Spanish you could try "mari-novio?" It's a made-up word, but it conveys exactly what the in...

I have never been so impressed with Secretary Clinton. Apart from her sheer competence and command of the facts, I think the single best moment of the night was when she just kept talking over Trump until he finally gave up one of the first times he interrupted her. She looked presidential. I hope ...

That's especially interesting given that my particular emphasis had application limited tracks. Sorry it sucks for transcript purposes.

If you're willing to get into it, I'm interested in why the professional tracks can't be called emphases. In my major, they were emphases, so I'm wondering what the different requirements for the name are.

I'm not only bothered by the "spinsteress" attack on etymological grounds. I think that it's so very obvious that single, childless women are those who are least bound by the double shift and unequal expectations, so no shit that they're more likely to advance in academia, much less MORMO...

Re: BQ 87454 Where do babies come from?
I think my favorite misconception I had was that men had cycles like women and they had to line up for an egg to be fertilized (it didn't help that all six children in my family were born at two times of the year).

PVA (Poly-Vinyl Acetate) is what I used in bookbinding. A quick google brought up this link https://www.amazon.com/Tran-PVA-Adhesiv ... B0027A7GT4. There was also Yes! Paste as an option, but I never used it.

I don't know if it's an answer I liked or a question I liked more, but the hidden photo finding one was fun. It was one of my two first immediate impressions. Apparently I know (and remember) weird campus hiding spaces better than most.

Elna Baker is my favorite and I'm still jealous I didn't get to go to a workshop she held in Utah. Next time she has a workshop I know about. I'm there.

Me: 5'8"
Brother 1: 6'

Brother 3: 5'7.5" (he wants to catch me and probably will as he's 13)
Sister 1:5'4"
Sister 2: 5'6"
Mom: 5'5-6"

I'm in Utah again for the short term at least and voted, so you know pick a weekend that's not the 2nd, and I'll probably be there.

Also, not to throw too much shade, and I'm sure he's a perfectly nice guy in real life, but I've disagreed in the strongest possible terms with pretty much every one of Sunday Night Banter's answers. (Note - this is just me and my opinion. Please don't dogpile on him if you agree with me.) Same. Bu...

The school is charging my husband for student health insurance because he didn't submit a health insurance waiver within a week after classes started even though he submitted the waiver more than a week before his classes started. We're going to call them on Monday and hopefully they'll waive it be...

Re: Requirements for Monson Scholars
As far as I know (which is from my little brother and a few years old), the National Merit is only required to be like $300-500 per year. The way BYU does it, you can lose Heritage and Presidential scholarships. BYU puts you up to the Heritage/Presidential level you qualify for (so you only get one)...

I just... really wonder how some people will be capable of functioning outside of BYU. Even in Utah. Unfortunately some are not very capable. I grew up in Utah county and there were definitely people in my ward... Even my very Mormon parents understood that different things are important to differe...

I may not understand Oregonians, but I do understand the Las Vegas and Salt Lake liberal kids that I have as Facebook friends and sometimes I want to go back to February 20 and caucus for Hillary instead just to make it clear that I'm not with these people. Bernie Sanders may be my top choice, but ...

RootsMapper is down for maintenance. But I went in and adjusted my progenitors so I can get accurate data. My biological paternal great-grandparents emigrated during the Weimar Republic ... so I'm probably 50% German. Scottish, English, and Danish on the maternal side, afaik. I hadn't seen RootsMap...

With my last day of my old job this past Friday and my first day of my new job tomorrow, the thought that has been floating in the back of my mind all weekend was What if a car ran me down while I don't have life or health insurance? This is irrelevant now, but if you paid premiums for this month, ...
