Re: bye Owlet
Oh hi thanks! Yeah life got a little crazy there, so we just threw it in when I realized it was happening. I haven't thought to check the Board Board since, so here's belated thanks for the kind thought. And you're welcome!

Re: Most spent on software
I have Photoshop CS6 (I think?) but I actually won it for volunteering at a thing so it didn't fit the question.

Re: Course Load
I took ASL and American Heritage during my first year (18 and 17 credits my first semesters), and my former roommate was a nursing major, so I feel somewhat qualified to say that your schedule will be cake. Don't even worry. If you're anything like me (seems likely from our conversations), you're ri...

Yep There's just been a lot of crazy stuff going on so I didn't have time to craft the perfect Board announcement...so we just slipped it in there.

How do you communicate in your job related to linguistics?
So for my Technical Writing class, I'm supposed to interview a professional in my field about "how they use communication" or some such (I missed the day when they explained it). Those of you who majored in linguistics, how has technical communication helped you? Answers regarding jobs unr...

Re: Wedding Registries in Inviations
What I want to know is, where do you put the website information? On the invite itself, or is that supposed to go in an insert too? I didn't realize including pictures was a Mormon thing. Is that something that is also considered rude, or just different? Edit: ohhhh people do pictures in their "...

Re: Answers I liked
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/79633/ I liked hearing everyone's stories about finding their major or career. It's a good reminder that straightforward paths are the exception, not the rule. I feel the same when people talk about how they found their eternal companion. It's nice to have some per...

I kept trying to delete that category, but it kept getting rid of "Social Sciences - Traditions" too. So I gave up and just kept them both.

Re: New laptop
I think my laptop is also on its way out. I'm preparing for the day it simply won't turn on anymore by frequently backing up my files, but I'm concerned about my Photoshop program. Is there something special I need to do to make sure I can have it on my new laptop? I still have the installation CD, ...

Yes, thanks Arcaiden, and NerdGirl for your points about how it works in other countries. I hadn't thought about that before but it's really cool.

Sorry guys--he was being facetious and definitely didn't realize the other reading. I know this person in real life, and sometimes you can't tell if he's being sarcastic even when you're talking face-to-face. I think his logic was on the line that The Moo is describing. I'll tell him to watch for th...

" Let It Go " in all the languages. I know that ASL is a lot more than pantomime, but that motion of breaking free of the shackles on "I'm freeee" was just beautiful. Yay! This just makes me happy. Ah I want to learn ASL so badly. Also makes me happy! We have some great Deaf tea...

Re: ward missionary
It's kind of implied, but I thought I'd also mention that when I was a ward missionary it was one of our responsibilities to reach out to those that were less active as well. Although, in our case it was more figuring out who had recently moved out of the ward and didn't transfer their records.

That's one thing I've been wondering about. When I'm interviewing people and educating myself, how do I know what the right answers are? I haven't even finished BIO 100 yet.
Oh and hi. I'm listening to this conversation and I find it quite fascinating. This is going to be really useful to me someday.
