Re: Apostasy vs Blackmail
I'm really, really hoping it's a troll. Then again, I had a roommate once who was indeed this awful of a person (remember this? Same guy.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I just wish there was a better word for it. Or that "partner" was a more widely accepted term for unmarried but committed relationships, so people wouldn't feel so weird about it. When in Spanish you could try "mari-novio?" It's a made-up word, but it conveys exactly what the in...

Re: Vegas Trip
I live fairly close to the Mesa Bass Pro, so I have a little insight on it. I'm not an outdoors person, or camper, or shooter, or fisher, or hunter. Most people who shop there fit one or more of these descriptions. They have an electronic shooting range (similar to Disneyland's but MUCH better). I'm...

TMI questions
There were two recently, and I thought the difference was... interesting. The first (http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/87707/) about a couple's sex life was very TMI. I mean, it wasn't inappropriate, but I'm certainly surprised that somebody would feel comfortable airing all of that to the Internet,...

Also, what sorts of problems exist at BYU-I that could put accreditation at risk?

Re: Rant of the Day
To pile on, I'm applying to law schools and BYU is high on my list (so cheap! Decent employment opportunities from the Mormon mafia!). They are SO FRUSTRATING. They require this obscure little certification from my undergraduate dean that literally no other school requires, not even Harvard, and it ...

Re: Honor Code Change
I've read like four news articles about the change and still don't get what the change is. Can somebody explain it to me like I'm five?
Also, +1000 to what Zed said about the HCO. I get that it exists, and why it is necessary, but they overextend their boundaries soooooo much.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I was talking to my dad and he mentioned how Youth Conference went this summer. It reminded me of a time when our theme for Youth Conference was "Steadfast and Immovable" and we were going on a road trip. They wanted to get t-shirts with our theme on a license plate. Steadfast is too big ...

This question and its answers were hilarious to me. And you know why.

Re: Mental illness is dumber
Rant of the day: My computer is 4 years old and on its last days. This is an incredibly inconvenient time for me because I can't afford a new one. I'm not a big computer user, and most of my internet use is on my phone, so I've been able to get by without a new computer for about a year now. However...

Re: Mental illness is dumber
Comment on last posts: I really want to be psychoanalyzed, but I'm pretty neurotypical, so it probably isn't worth the money. I just have a pronounced reaction to stress, and a desire to control things, but none of these things have interfered with my life, so is it worth the hundreds of dollars? Ye...

Seriously. If I kissed my SOs like I kissed my parents, it would have to be before I turned 8, freshly bathed, and on my way to bed. I feel like those criteria would land my SO in jail, so it's probably best to ignore that advice.

I've really enjoyed everything by Dr. Occam recently. He's pretty funny, and also writes good answers. (His describing a saint as "metal" made me actually laugh out loud.)

Please write an exposé when all is said and done, I happen to love drama. And if you guys have a reason for what's been happening, I take it all back pending a resolution. I really do think that this group of writers can be considered a Golden Age (along with when the Claudios were on Board, among o...

I read a lot of thread while not logged in, so I use the "mark all topics read" function a lot. It's not working anymore. I click it, and everything stays red. Help?

Re: 87557, 87564, and 87562, just on the front page
I agree. I get that it can be frustrating to get a bunch of questions that are only a Google search away, but the fact is these questions are the Board's bread and butter. Even a three sentence answer with a link at the end is better than the current trend. In an age when increasing the Board's read...
