Re: Knock knock
Hi Gio! It's been a while... I don't think our time on this forum really overlapped at all, but I used to check the Board and the board board quite a bit, but it's been a few years since I've been an active reader. Just dropped in today on a whim and found this. I'm curious too if there's still peop...

picking your roommate's major
( link. ) Dear trying to help, I believe there is quite a bit of pressure on us students (particularly at BYU) to have a perfect life plan including a major and career that we enjoy, that will make a lot of money, that will prepare us to be parents, or combinations of these and other factors. Compou...

Re: Transgender Sibling
I don't have much to say, but I wanted to point out the suggestion that was made here to "stage an intervention." perhaps it sounds harsh, but if you really love your sibling, you will stop them from making such a rash decision in a compromised mental state if you do love your sibling, you...

Re: Causing Trouble at Church
It looks like I have a few things to say, and somehow they ended up in a numbered list. 1. Somewhat tangential: I was surprised by the mention of the manual. It might just be that I’m not too familiar with how Sunday School lessons work outside of the youth world. Could someone explain the reference...

Re: What makes you happy today?
What made me happy today? I took AP tests in May, and access opens up to view scores next week. But it turns out I arranged to have my scores sent to BYU, and they've already given me some credit for them. I just found out what I got based on their record summary. Three days early.

mission timing/revelation, again--87072
What happens if you get clear revelation to go on a mission and you don't do it? I wonder if there's not more complexity to this scenario than the answers given indicate. In particular, I thought of Tally M. when I read this question. I believe that in order for me to have the most spiritual growth...

Re: Requirements for Monson Scholars
Haven't seen this thread in a while, eh? I just thought I'd say this, in case it's relevant to anyone in the future: These days, your application for admission to BYU (no separate application, and certainly no interviewing process) enters you into the academic scholarship awarding pool, which includ...

Re: mission timing
If President Monson's idea that young men don't need to go at 18 is going to catch on in your area, a few people are going to have to buck the trend. It's also fun when I try to explain to people who aren't LDS. For example, one of the only things my math teacher knows about me is that I'm Mormon, ...

mission timing
I'm almost eighteen, I'm a guy, and I'm kind of caught between Luciana and Tally M. on this one. I think it's incredibly important for young men and women to learn what it's like to live on their own before serving a mission. For most people, I don't think it's a good idea to turn in papers and leav...

Re: 85636, 85572: websites "to the max"
Okay. Thanks. I guess what really bothered me wasn't the categorization but the question itself, in that the word "addiction" implies a seriousness (at least for me) that I don't think the question asker was taking into account, and I was surprised that that level of seriousness got carrie...

85636, 85572: websites "to the max"
These two questions seem to be asked by the same person. I was interested in how the responses came out differently for each question. For the Facebook one , the question was categorized unter Computers-Internet and Self Improvement. The advice given is to delete the app, filter Internet, or replace...

Re: The Board Survey
Speaking of users coming through and registering, I'm the Board Board's newest member. I haven't felt like it would be worth it to post much yet, but I've been following your discussions for quite a while. Whether I ever have much to contribute remains to be seen. For better or for worse, the Board ...
