Re: Lost Finale

@Everyone: Yeah, we'll probably just keep bumping this up. Tired of it? Go watch LOST and realize what you're missing out on. Then come join us. @Damasta: STOP RAINING ON MY HURLEYBIRD PARADE! OK, so I've thought a lot about the pregnancy illness thing as well. It is a deeply frustrating problem tha...

Re: Lost Finale

I have been thinking about this pretty much ever since it aired. It's sad, but LOST has always affected me that way. It sticks to your brain. And the finale left me with a lot to think about. I loved it a lot, and I couldn't come up with a better ending. I think I'll start by talking about "ans...

If only that were true for med school. Despite having lived financially independent of them for the last four years, I am required to submit my parents' tax and income information in order to be considered for financial aid in medical school. I have heard tell of applicants 30+ years old who still h...

I have used this app, and it is awesome. It's enough to make me wish for an iPhone. Then again, most things in life make me wish for an iPhone. Alas.

Anyway. If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch and you like the Board, you need this app.

Reader Response to Music Recommendations

I was thinking about it today and realized that over the last year or so, I have recommended a lot of music. So have Foreman and Cognoscente. I've taken a few of their recommendations and have found them greatly rewarding. I have wondered, however, if any of the readership has actually gotten/listen...

I'll miss you, Kicks! Thanks for always being one of my biggest advocates and for being one of my favorite writers (even before I knew that I knew you)!

not to ruffle any feathers, but some of those songs are just plain not romantic. bismark, you and I are in complete agreement for perhaps the first time ever. There are a lot of these that are pretty much without romantic subtext. I think that Foreman wasn't shooting for 100% on the "let's mak...

#46277 - Foreman's Slow Dances

Question Playlist So, has anybody gone and listened to this yet? Here's a hint: ROCK SOLID. "I'll Catch You" is a personal favorite. I've slow danced to that one a couple of times, and it's a good'un. One thing I might have changed, though, is the Pixies. I LOVE this song, but it doesn't ...

Responses! 1. The question of "what is pop?" is one that has plagued me for years. Every time my wife gets mad at me, she threatens to ask that question to me on the Board, and it puts me in my place. The thing is that pop is really more of a feeling than a genre. Yes, there is undoubtedly...

So...your major reasoning is simply that you want to be in the minority?

...lucky thing for you and your faith that Mormons are still a minority, eh?

Buttercup, I never said U2 sucked (nor did I say that their guitarist does not have one of the best names in rock and roll!)! The problem is when people elevate them too high. They're a good band, they just happen to be one of the most overblown bands of all time. Comparing them to the Beatles...jus...

Suppose I only get creative (that's the word I was looking for!) as long as the title is actually indicative of the question it refers to, like "Left a Rant Instead of a Name? F Minus Minus" and "Violet Midget Artichoke Nimrod Hillbillies… it Could’ve Been Worse"? Well, see,...

I've actually had trouble with these. I appreciate the effort and all, but most of the time I have no idea what question the title is in reference to.

But I chose the guilty pleasures question, mostly because it caused me to reevaluate a writer or two. In a good way.
I must admit my curiosity as to these "reevaluations."
