Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
The vicar of dibley was on Netflix for a long time and I think I ended up watching it all the way through twice. SO delightful!

92217 - maintain identity with kids
https://100hourboard.org/questions/92217 With alumni week around the corner, I thought I'd check the front page of the Board for the first time in AT LEAST a year. (Plus I've got some programs running and am really just waiting on them to finish.) Just wanted to say, hey, these are really nice thoug...

Re: Do kids really need a middle name?
We went with the letter b! Already have to explain it all the time, guess we set him up for that. What are parents for if not needlessly making up difficult names?

Re: Do kids really need a middle name?
Digit -- no!! But also I forgot about that great option.
I'm pretty convinced at the moment of a single letter middle name with many possible interpretations for what it stands for. Is that crazy? Like Junie b Jones and no one knows what the b stands for.

Genuine article -- those were great ramblings, thank you
In case anyone's wondering, I've come to no conclusions on first or middle names. 3 weeks to decide!!

Re: Do kids really need a middle name?
We do have some ideas on terrible middle names that are tempting then I remember the kid does actually have to live with it and I decide the joke isn't good enough.
Next question brought in by TBS : themed family names, what's up with that?

Re: Do kids really need a middle name?
Thanks for your input marduk! I'm glad most of you aren't too affected by your middle names (sorry TBS), and it sounds like no middle name does have a few consequences. But at least this means the middle name isn't as salient for most people.

Re: Do kids really need a middle name?
Amity -- Omg no middle name has caused you real problems! I guess I should consider carefully if that's going too far. It's so odd that they need an entry; shouldn't the government be able to figure out some people don't have a middle name? Hmmm. Yayfulness -- ah so you like the maiden name middle n...

Do kids really need a middle name?
Pros: get a nice middle initial in your resume; more options for nicknames or if they hate their name as an adult; 80% of Americans have a middle name Cons: coming up with a first name is already really hard; i don't care about my middle name, so maybe that's normal?; not having a middle name is spe...

I'm surprised there's so much defense of conspiracy theories. If I weren't so lazy I'd link you all to some studies about conspiracy theories and the types of people who believe in them. No, they aren't mentally ill, but yes there are consistent characteristics that people who believe in those theor...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I have a lot of questions about how they performed their survey and what statistics they are comparing to (if you compare BYU grads to the national average that's really not the same as comparing BYU grads to any other grads, for starters). Similarly, I wonder how many no-longer-LDS grads saw the su...

Re: Work work work
@digit will that help or hurt my throbbing imposter syndrome? @yayfulness interestingly over the past year I've been happiest when working on well defined projects from other people. Right now I have none of that and am making up work basically for my team... Taking on a role I don't like. But!! I s...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Sweet I gotta say, based on what you've told me and my 2 days at the strip, it wasn't that fun anyway? Might as well move somewhere with someone awesome like Unlucky Stuntman. I hope to hear about your adventures!
