Re: Wedding registry

I think the real question here is, what have you already thought of?

This is how my friend told her kids. It cracks me up how they just aren't getting it!

Re: Getting out of a hug

My friend had a guy try to kiss her and she didn't know how to handle it, so she put her two pointer fingers up like horns, said, "I'm a bull!" and rammed her "horned" head into his chest. That's one way to discourage touching.

Re: anxiety

I pace and then focus on my steps or breaths as I do it. Pilates/Yoga type things seem to help (focus on breathing and specific sets of muscles. Not must room for other thoughts). My job can also be a lot of mindless data entry which means my brain is free to obsesses and wander, usually if that hap...

Re: Drinking fountain - #71073

I knew a few people with drinking fountains. Only one of them made sense to me and it was the house with the ballet studio in the basement.

Re: Answers I liked

I think Pa Grape used to hold (monthly?) meetings that were really intense and not very fun for any of the writers. Like the kind where everyone had to clear out all the over-hours questions? Those gatherings sound not very fun (o: (In reality, I have no idea who did those gatherings and they actua...

Re: Answers I liked

I thought Chrysanthemum's response to my plea for a board photo gallery was really cute and funny, but I still want one-- Just a place where you can enjoy all of the board photos- it's difficult to search them in the archives because not all of them have the word "picture", or "photo...

Re: Answers I liked

Dating a left-handed guy is awesome. You can hold hands AND both of you have your dominant hands free to do stuff. It doesn't feel like you're being led around by the hand like a little kid or something. I learned to eat with my left hand for this very reason. Meal-time hand-holding! Also it makes ...

Re: Answers I liked

http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/70406/ All of these answers were good, but I especially liked Eirene's "home-court advantage" metaphor. I feel like in addition to thumbs up and editor's choice there ought to be a Katya seal of approval for Board answers. You know, some sort of stamped-l...

Re: Doesn't want a roommate

My aunt and uncle have houses next door to each other. She decides what the kids do half the time and he decides the other half and they can come and go as they please. They seem to like it. My whole family sort of judges them, but now that I've been single for a long time and am set in my ways, I c...

Re: 70055--dating and bishops

Haha! I read "mulch"! And it was way more confusing. I was just trying to catch up on things while listening in on a boring conference call. Serves me right for thinking I could get away with that...

Still munch and mingle sounds like a stupid thing too.

Re: Special Ordering Temple Garments

To second Whistler, it is SOOO easy to have garments specially made. They do it all the time--particularly if there's a health or medical issue. Apparently you can also call the Relief Society offices (at least, that's what my mom did -- they had to special-order some for my grandma when she was sic...

Re: VCRs- still have one?

There needs to be an, "I have one, but I am reasonably sure it doesn't work because I never use it, so that's just as good as not having one." option (o: If it weren't a combination DVD/VCR unit, I would throw it out.
