Re: Pee in the pool

As a former lifeguard, I can honestly say that I've never knowingly peed in a pool.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream

I had to compete in synchronized diving in the olympics. I've had a fear of flipping ever since I was ten years old. They didn't seem to care, and told me that I should just go for it (a quadruple flip twisty pike crazy dive) without warming up. Solid plan. My partner was another girl from my old di...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

I think you should buy the bigger size that fits your right. Then maybe you can use heel grips or stuff cotton balls into the toe of your left shoes. Obviously this only works for shoes with toes/heels. I don't know what I would do about sandals and the like.

Re: Henna

If someone has gotten a tattoo in the past (when they were a non-member, inactive, just felt like it, or whatever), they can still go to BYU, though, right? I just don't get how this could possibly be regulated. Sure, tattoos are sometimes visible, but they aren't something that can be easily change...

I don't know anything about interpreter rates, but congratulations! Sounds like you may have found, if not a new hobby, a new way to occupy your time, using a talent you already have. That's awesome.

Re: I met you before

When I read this question, I didn't immediately place it into a romantic context. I was thinking more along the lines of Eliot's second post, which I think is possible, though it's never happened to me personally.

Stuff I've been doing that you may or may not also enjoy: -Languages: I know you just got back to the US, so you might be all languaged-out, but I've had fun working on my Spanish, Hindi, and ASL. I've been listening to music/tv/news and reading books, as well as talking to a few people who are much...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

Another side note: if a guy I'm interested in has no other male friends, I see that as a yellow flag. I'm not saying I won't date him or give him a chance, but I will think about and try to determine why all his friends are girls. Is he a ladies' man? Is he feminine? Does he do things that other guy...

Ugh. That's what I tell myself, too. But then I realize that we can't both win. I guess we both have to lose. At least that's what generally happens.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

Judging from everything I've ever read on here, I'd say I'm a lot girlier than the average boardboard babe. I actually like makeup and clothes and chick flicks. I also like talking about those things. That being said, I still find it easier and more enjoyable to make friends with guys. Since I'm stu...

I'm currently reading The Idealist.org Handbook to Building a Better World. I felt like a real grownup when I checked out four non-fiction books from the library the other day. ...At least until I realized I didn't even know where the non-fiction section was until that moment.

Ever since a globster washed up on shore when I was at the beach a few years ago, I have been fascinated and disgusted by them. My globster looked like a turkey-pig, and pretty similar to an ROUS. Nasty.

Re: Gay family members

Marduk, your response reminds me of those shirts that say "I can't. I'm Mormon." I've always had somewhat of a problem with those shirts, and your response basically sums up the reason. I agree that we tend to focus too much on what we shouldn't do, as opposed to what we should do. On the ...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

Power outages in 104 degree weather are the worst! I definitely take air conditioning and traffic lights for granted more than I ever realized. Feel sorry for me and my whiny self! I do have power/internet at work, but because of security, I can't check my personal email or facebook or anything like...

Re: Sister Integral

I can vouch for the miserableness of 110 degree weather and no power. I should've mentioned that. It happens. Pretty much every year.

We lost power on Friday, during the hottest week of the year so far. Yet I still have work today. LAME.
