Re: Jacob Call
Yeah, that guy. I have no reason for knowing him that I can think of, yet for some reason I feel like I do, or at least I've seen him around, or something. I dunno. Very weird.

Re: Serving Alcohol While a BYU Student
Interesting. The HC line does say "Furthermore, all students are required to abstain from possessing, serving, or consuming alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tea, coffee, or harmful drugs." I suppose that puts working at a cafe in the same category as working at a bar...

Re: Liberalism vs. Conservatism
Except for the number of people who consider the Tea party movement to be leftist.... Really, as I understood it it was a fairly good mix of both inclinations. Well that really comes down to the debate about what "right" and "left" actually mean. Neocon? Classical liberal? Vorp'...

Ok, I won't say something snarky about your responses to my original snarky comment directed at the honor code..

Re: What you wish you had known/done/brought as a freshman
I would have spent more time playing DOTA/Halo and sitting out on DT field with girls watching movies. Nothing beats running to hide in the bushes while HCO thugs clear out the field and then going back to finish up the film.. I really have no idea how I survived on 4 hours of sleep a night but it w...

Re: Liberalism vs. Conservatism
If the Tea Party's hooting and hollering isn't vocal, then I don't know what is. I would consider them pretty far out in "right" field...Unit of Energy wrote:I don't know that that is a fair assumption. Vorpal is right of the vocal part of the country, but I'm not sure about the rest of the country.

Re: Serving Alcohol While a BYU Student
Joseph Smith tried opening a tavern in Nauvoo but his proposal was rejected by the city counsel. Man, between beards and booze, the HCO ought to just kick the entire church out of BYU.

this has gotten boring. facts: 1) we now only use water per church policy 2) latter-day saints have at some points used alcoholic wine as the sacrament. so what exactly is the debate? obviously the scripture has not always been interpreted to mean grape juice, but if that interpretation has since ch...

Yeah, but you don't have to use [the terminal]. I'm mostly using Linux as an educational experience. Nothing wrong with that, but I've gotten to the point where I want my computer to do useful things instead of having to fiddle with Xorg config files. Also, Linux is free. So I can play with it with...
