Re: Rant of the Day

So, I have an INTENSE family history of breast cancer. My mom was diagnosed at 33 and died at 36. My maternal grandmother, maternal great-grandmother, and maternal great-aunt all had breast cancer (although none died of it). My maternal aunt recently discovered a fast-developing pre-cancerous lump ...

Literally me today. I am struggling with it.

Re: Presentation Topic

I'm loving these ideas. Last night at midnight (which is about 2.5 hours after my preferred bedtime) I came up with the brilliant idea of "Snape is the Worst, don't fight me on this" but I'm not sure if I want to pursue that either. I've got two days :)

Presentation Topic

Even though I have nothing to talk about, I pity-signed up to present a 3-5 min TED-like presentation for our Relief Society activity this week. I'm simply not interested in anything right now to the extent that I'm willing to do any research. But I figure, the Board has probably already done the re...

Re: Apartments Near Murray

Oh man you should go with Turnberry. Tons of BYU grads makes it a "relatively social" place (also it's a huge complex, split into two YSA wards -- I prefer my ward but if I were in the other one I think I'd prefer it). It's not far from public transportation and also if you consider "...

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to

It was here I discovered the Lizzie Bennet Diaries! Which changed my life. Mostly in the way that I now spend a little too much time thinking about other webseries that are currently on the bandwagon. My favorite might be Classic Alice . It's the story of a college student who gets a bad grade on a ...

Sometimes I wonder if I'm not as smart as other people because my goal in life is to stay at home, nurture my children, and cook dinner for my husband. As far as the original topic goes, I really liked the quote and I don't even think it needs to be restated as "one of the roles" -- I thi...

Re: Halloween Costumes

Ugh I JUST read the answer for super easy costumes and thought "Oh there is also this one" but I cannot remember my brilliant idea. It would've been super easy whatever it was. Last night I decided that I'm going as Truly Scrumptious. I borrowed the dress a couple weeks ago and couldn't de...

Started reading regularly in 2009, and I hadn't officially graduated yet but I was pretty much done with school.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

I got a text that awoke me at 9:45 pm, which is no big deal. The big deal is my roommate starting to vacuum at ten minutes before midnight. When she started vacuuming again ten minutes after midnight I got up and glared at her until she stopped, then I put the vacuum away for her. (She might not hav...

Because I hadn't had time to get Romola's Emma out of my head before meeting 21st-century extra-self-assured Emma and I'm going to need a couple episodes to like her.

(I do already like Knightley though.)

Re: an open forum on the (really good) RS sesh

I still can't get past "treacly" because I would not have described any of the previous General RS Presidency's voices as "treacly" at all. Sister Beck has, like, a strong voice, Sister Thompson has a matter-of-fact voice, and Sister Allred has an accent. I think you might still ...

The place where I live is basically a mini-Provo. We got together at a bishopric member's home for the BYU-Utah game and it was about 80/20 BYU/Utah fans.
