Re: Cake

That's usually the opposite of what happens at high altitude baking... Usually you have to reduce oil because the cakes get super oily. But GA is also right. Sour cream cakes are delicious.

Re: What's your favorite cheese?

I am a fan of most types of cheese, even if it took me a minute to warm up to some of them (I disliked emmental for a long time). Currently in my cheese drawer I have muenster, jack, parmesan, and mozzarella. They're pretty much my staples (except the muenster). I'll throw in some colby jack, feta (...

No one told me that Hamilton is about an upwardly mobile bastard son! MY FAVORITE TROPE GUYS One of my favorite things from Hamilton tangentia (if that's the best way to describe it) that is related to this is Lin-Manuel Miranda talking about the woman in the audience who gasped when Burr says in t...

Diphenhydramine which is the main ingredient in Benadryl (the antihistamine) is also the main ingredient in Unisom. Or it's another antihistamine. I can't remember which. But basically antihistamine=drowsiness.

5. As I'm currently sitting in my friend's house in this area I guess I'll chime in. It's humid. The place my friend's house is seems to be perpetually rainy. Class lines seem to run deep geographically. A lot of generic big city stuff in Houston proper, but the suburbs are very suburby. Similar to ...

And by " can " make your breasts grow, I mean "birth control has made my breasts grow a full cup size literally every time I change a dose or miss too many pills and it's driving me insane." Unsolicited advice, but the long acting reversible methods (IUD, implant, etc.) have had...

Re: LDS Handbook changes - SSM, Apostasy, and children

I'm not sure I have anything else to add to this post. This may just be rambling, but I hope all of you are safe and surrounded by supportive people. I think the thing that scares me about all the "just trust in the Church leaders or you're wrong" and "this is where we start seeing th...

Carl's Jr and Hardee's are the same company. Technically they're different, but they're held by the same company and that parent company does all their marketing and general business stuff (source: friend who works on their account in an ad agency. No he can't change anything because he's super juni...

So this isn't as much an answer I liked as a sidenote for other things that happen to old library books as The Soulful Ginger mentioned:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhTaHojfLDA

This fort of books was constructed entirely of library discards. Not a usual use of old library books, but another use.

I don't know if the anonymous writer who went through their crisis of faith and happiness reads here, but I will say, your experience reminds me very much of my own. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Maybe you will be happier outside the church, maybe you won't, but I wouldn't make that deci...

There's an interest in keeping guns difficult to access for people who are suicidal. It's not just mass shootings.

Re: Instagram, Insta-groan

So Instagram can be used on multiple devices, but you can only upload mobilely. So if you have a photo you took on a DSLR, you have to transfer the file to a mobile device to be able to upload it. Other considerations: you can only be logged into one instagram account at a time in the main app. If y...

Have you read Yes, Please or BossyPants? I really appreciated them as audiobooks. Also, good for you for taking advantage of OverDrive.

Current top 5 all got 0? You'd have to be the top scorer, and the other people scoring in your top 5 would have to be 0 or other low scorers.

In those situations, I ask if people want a short answer or a longer answer they'll want to ask questions about. Sometimes I clarify, "do you want to know what's going on in my life physically or emotionally?" In most cases (mostly my mom) people are satisfied with a more detailed physical...

So my student organization has tied on voting for a professional development trip location once already. It went to a run off after much internal leadership discussion. Of course it went the way that costs are 75% more to the organization by just one vote. If we had taken votes at face value it woul...

I think Whistler's suggestion for low key declarations is excellent. Other suggestions include "I always have fun with you" and "I want to spend more time with you." It's non-threatening and doesn't really demand an immediate response. Also once you're kissing, I discovered the b...
