Hey, thanks! (Also thanks to Chillylint for pointing out your post to me.) It looked intriguing, but I didn't realize it would be that hard to find concrete answers about its origin.

I definitely prefer small and used sparingly. Unless the picture actually adds to understanding the answer, it's just in the way. Extra pictures take up lots of space on the page, as well as on the server.

I think that often you're right, it can get annoying, but I think CATS is hilarious. His grammar is wrong in just the right way. Not to mention the fact that he's spoofing Zero Wing.
