Re: Mot du jour, etc.
The French word for "hat" is chapeau ("sha-poh") and the French word for "choice" is choix ("shwa"), so in the French version of the first Harry Potter book, the Sorting Hat is translated as the pun "choixpeau." :) So...I've read that book 3 times i...

Thanks, DL, for summarizing my thoughts much better than I could have.
I'm definitely not a writer.

Re: Yarn crafty help
I think if you put 2 hooks/loops on each side, I would think it would be strong enough. Also, it's not too tough to replace a hook if it does get damaged.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
You could let them redo the problems they didn't answer for half credit, that way they could still get some of the points back, but there is some penalty for not having completed the assignment fully the first time. Or you could allow them to redo it for full credit, and give those who had it done t...

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to
There is a wide spectrum when it comes from education from I schooling, very free, to strict watch me do and the jump through all the exact same thing. I think being so far on either end of the spectrum is a bad thing. If you are teaching and require students to do exactly the same thing as you exac...

At least for me, feeling short is a rare occurrence so I enjoy when it happens.

Re: Heights of SO
I'd also have a really hard time dating a guy who isn't at least a few inches taller than me, but I'm 5'9", so that limits my dating pool quite a bit. In real terms, I'd be ok if the guy was at least 5'9" but my ideal height is more in the 6'2" to 6'4", though I wouldn't be oppos...

Re: How Long Have You Read The Board? (Poll)
I found the board during my Junior year of college (2008/2009) thanks to being the roommate of a board writer. (oh, and I graduated - 2010)

Re: Driver's Ed Schools and MY BEAUTIFUL CAR
Marduk is right, however, I do have a personal anecdote. When I was doing driver's Ed in high school they had a driving range on wich we would practice all of our parking skills with cones. Even my parallel parking test was done there. I just think the school did that to avoid the potential lawsuits...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I always feel a slight rush when one of my comments gets posted. It sort of almost makes me feel like a board writer, though I'd never actually be one because writing is NOT my strong suit.

Re: Which reader/writer names do you know?
Woohoo! I'm still at 0, I guess I'm good at being non-stalkable, though there is at least one person on the boardboard who knows exactly who I am, but they don't get on here all that often.
