Re: Regretting an abortion
While reading through this, I noticed a few people mentioned IUDs as a good option. It's important to note that IUDs aren't advised for "unstable" situations and doctors will caution that a stable monogamous relationship is important due to potential iud complications. While it's not like ...

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
The ex mo reddit thread part of the question would be more applicable to those who aren't active anymore. But I'd suppose even then ex's may not all want the bitterness.

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
The threads about me being trans might be some of the ones the reader objected to. I suppose some people would feel uncomfortable jumping in if it meant saying things that could be seen as a direct attack on me. I don't know if there's anything I could or should have done there to make it more comf...

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
If you disagree with the writing on the board, why do you follow it? And What is it that makes you enjoy disagreeing/arguing on theboardboard as apposed to an exmo reddit? Well, here's the thing. Okay, this is going to get a little dramatic, I can feel it. None of this is meant to be self-important...

I think it's funny because I, as someone new, feel like the infiltrator.bobtheenchantedone wrote: So the accusation of "infiltration" is actually hilariously wrong. (Unless you think of it as our future selves playing the long game...?)

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
What is it that makes you enjoy disagreeing/arguing on theboardboard as apposed to an exmo reddit? For the record, I'm 99% certain that Whistler is a practicing, active Mormon. Which I think is the point. Good to know. I am relatively new and haven't really figured out who is what here. But I also ...

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
yeah, posts like the abortion thread where people make really passionate posts and then more people pretty much agree make it less friendly for discussion. I didn't mind because I agreed with "our" "consensus". I probably shouldn't have posted that I agreed, because it didn't ad...

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
NovemberEast and Zed, what is it about the tone of some threads? It's hard to say. I can tell you that I was very intimidated by the most recent abortion post. The pitchforks were really out and it seemed like everyone was storming the 100 hour board castle. But then there was the gay wedding cake ...

Re: 83352 - The Board Apostasy Board (I'm joking, not hating
I think it depends on the tone of the thread. There have definitely been threads where I felt like people would get mad at me if I posted a more orthodox opinion but there were also threads where I had no trouble disagreeing with something. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is. I'll second t...

Re: early to bed and rise
I'm mixed on how this has applied in my life, but I think it's most important to get *enough* sleep for your body. Whatever that means. The benefits touted by going to bed and getting up early seem similar to just getting the right amount of sleep. I will say that in college I was NOT a morning pers...

You misunderstood. It's not my opinion of any of these hypothetical people, or that any of those things will always necessarily happen. Some people (me) (over)analyze how their (not even that important) choices *might* impact people later on down the road. Some people don't think it's a big deal. Ei...

Re: last name update
So since you don't share the genes associated with your surname, you'd like to change it to your moms? That makes sense. But doesn't that take more than just a trip to the Social Security Office and DMV? I remember when I changed my name there was something about needing to see a judge if I wanted t...

Re: last name update
i'm confused. If you don't like missing a middle name are you opposed to going by: first name - maiden last name - husbands last name? Not sure I read that correctly. Just wondering. That's what I did because I'm quite attached to my family name. My MIL found this odd (even though it's EXTREMELY com...

Can I just say how much I HATE the idea that one shouldn't develop "strong emotional attachments" outside of one's spouse? We need strong emotional attachments, and generally, more are better. I think LDS culture puts too much onto the role of a spouse, and it isn't healthy. I've actually...

regarding #82983 I've heard my share of stories, but they all seem so dumb I think there's no way...but then maybe. The worst I heard is how the couple didn't know what went where...and something about a belly button. Use your imagination. Soapbox: I get that having "THE TALK" is uncomfort...

Re: Mormons and Gays
Three things. 1. This is coming from a fairly "orthodox" mormon, at least compared to a good chunk of the boardboard. So there is that. 2. I'm completely unqualified to respond to this because I have zero therapy/psychology/other experience. BUT. I'm sorry about what's going on between you...

oh boy can I ever relate. I wouldn't say I hate it, but VT-ing is a trial of my patience for sure. I had a long talker until she moved last month. My companion would never agree to do back to back appointments after her because "sister, she needs us as long as she needs us." UGGGHAAAARRGGG...

Re: BQ 82681 Disney Honeymoon
Those are great tips! Going to some of the resorts for food on a non-park day is my favorite thing for some reason. Going to WDW on a honeymoon is pretty ambitious though. I just hope they take plenty of non-park days to relax.
