Re: Vasectomies
I just want to say that when D.A.R.E. was a kid his dad got a vasectomy, and when he got home after his procedure he walked in the door and D.A.R.E. punched him in the wiener as a joke (because boys think that's funny?), not realizing he'd just had a vasectomy.

#86717 Scrimper wife with a flippant husband
BQ#86717 The situation this woman described mirrors my own fairly closely: My husband is the bread-winner, I'm a SAHM, and I make 90% of the financial decisions in our house. I pay the bills, set aside savings, and know where every cent goes. I feel as though a lot of the writers sided with the hus...

Re: Rant of the Day
A woman in my ward posted in our FB group that she had an air conditioner she was giving away, practically new, for free, and did anybody want it. Well, there's a woman who's kind of in the ward who immediately popped up and said she wanted it, but she lives far away and needed someone to pick it up...

Re: mission timing
I am pleased to announce that effective immediately all worthy and able young men who have graduated from high school or its equivalent, regardless of where they live, will have the option of being recommended for missionary service beginning at the age of 18, instead of age 19. I am not suggesting...

Re: Rant of the Day
A woman I know told me that whenever she leaves on a trip she leaves the house spotlessly clean so that when she gets back she can definitively say that any mess she finds is her husband's problem.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
After I left for college my parents finally had more kids out of the house than in (and therefore, more money), and when I came home for Christmas break I realized they'd starting buying name brand food since I'd been gone. I felt totally gypped.Cognoscente wrote:lifestyle-creep

Mother's Day
I've been in my ward for two years, and each year for Mother's Day they've handed out a single carnation to all the women. I think this is the lamest thing ever, because a) I have no use for a flower, and b) we're all forced to carry our flowers around during the block and they end up bent in half, ...

Re: Family relationships
So your parent and this guy were half-siblings? Were they raised together? No, my mom's parents had four kids, got divorced, and my grandpa raised them. Then when all his kids were grown he remarried and had four more kids. They're roughly the same age as my older siblings, in their mid-thirties or...

Re: #85500 - same-gender attraction
I say drop the verb if you can, and just say I'm _____ or they're _______. I'm gay, they're diabetic, etc. Or I suppose "experiencing" is always a safe/neutral substitute for "struggling with." They experience same-sex attraction. I like the phrase "deal with." It can s...

Re: Buying a House
Just to be cautious and really think about how much house you can afford/want. You'll likely be approved for much more than it'd be good for you to spend. Figure out the maximum amount you want to pay each month, factoring in your mortgage, insurance, and repairs (1% of your home price a year) and d...

I'm turning into Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window
So...I kind of think my next-door neighbors might be drug dealers. Random cars pull up and my neighbor will come out and sit in the car for a few minutes. Sometimes they smoke. Then he gets out and the car drives away. Two days ago a woman drove up, went to the porch with an envelope, deposited it i...
