It sounds reasonable to me to ask, but it probably depends on your company culture and how comfortable you feel asking your supervisor (or whoever knows).

Re: so, um, deviants at BYU

I think that pedophilia/interest in minors is a different sexual orientation, and one that should not be pursued. "I don't know anybody among us in the real world who has sexual compulsions or ANY interest in minors." This is like me saying in high school that I didn't know any gay people....

It seems like grey hair is popular now, if you want the trendy look you could simply dye all your hair grey.

Re: Rant of the Day

Literally every thing I can think of that my life has in common right now with where I expected my life would be ten years ago: 1. I am currently married I honestly can't think of anything else, and even the details of #1 aren't very similar to what I expected them to be. This isn't entirely bad. G...

If you don't take the Bible literally, you don't have to worry about where Adam's rib went, how all the animals got on the ark (and off!), how people lived to be hundreds of years old, how the earth was made in 6 days, or where Neanderthals fit into the world. Letting go of the Bible being literally...

Re: Rant of the Day

I'm in a scenes show, playing a Greek lady. Did some research and found out about authentic Greek hairstyles, including that all married women (my song is about how I accidentally killed my husband) wore their hair up. Figured out an easy hairstyle my untalented fingers can do in 10 minutes. Slappe...

Re: Transgender Sibling

wow, yeah, that's a tough questions. The substance abuse makes the situation pretty disconcerting; I think trans people should be empowered to make decisions that help them feel like themselves in their bodies, and I also think that it's possible to make decisions one would regret while being under ...

The good news: Word works just fine now. The bad news: This came at the cost of my computer spending an hour and a half installing an update, then telling me it couldn't install it properly, then spending the next hour and a half uninstalling that same update. This is the second time it's happened....

I know we have a couple of serious gamers -- Cogs, and Whistler has done Indie game reviews (and alpha testing?). A Wikipedia rabbit hole led me to We Happy Few: it looks like BioShock meets Brave New World . I've been really into the Uncle Jack YouTube videos. :P Has anyone played it/heard about i...

I work at BYU, but I had no idea they were in danger of losing their accreditation. Is it with respect to certain colleges?

Comment on last posts: I really want to be psychoanalyzed, but I'm pretty neurotypical, so it probably isn't worth the money. I just have a pronounced reaction to stress, and a desire to control things, but none of these things have interfered with my life, so is it worth the hundreds of dollars? Y...

my grandma loves the "science" of telling personality traits based on physical features. I shouldn't knock it too much because there is some science behind it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio
