# 90086 - friend zoned in the nerd zone
Putting yourself out there in an acting class is ballsy -- and I don't think is a stereotypical "nerd" activity at all! My parents met in an acting class in community college or something, and neither of them were nerds. (My bio dad totally is a nerd and never would have wasted a credit ho...

Re: Hello? Is it me you're looking for?
I just signed up for session 5 of my creative non-fiction writing group and am applying to a dual-degree program through my grad school, because I've found that when I overbook myself the existential void stays at bay a bit. Debating between going to Bumbershoot or round two of Shakespeare Fest over...

I think my favorite is that it's being instigated by a man who seems to be supremely uncomfortable and downright toxic regarding anyone who IS attractive doing anything about it. Three cheers for the patriarchy!!

Re: Hello? Is it me you're looking for?
Embracing my future as a fast-talking stressed-out executive. Had an amazing staycation with ziplines, free flowing wine and beer (and people smoking, ugh), and hot European interns. Currently, however, in a medical study. They're testing a close relative of Valium as an anesthetic. It seemed to kno...

Alternate secular life
This question was interested to imagine. If my parents had remained non-religious (or my mom had done the single mom thing) then I think my life would have looked a lot like Rory from Gilmore Girls. I think I would have had a very similar education but kept up piano instead of dropping it for semin...

I tend to split my retail dollars between local and places that scale for items like books and clothing.
However, I've actually had a good experience with big box stores for electronics. Having a warranty and scale gives me peace of mind.

As a reader of Vogue and Marie Claire and such, Selena Gomez has had her own mental health issues, including a type of nervous breakdown where she withdrew from public life. Adds an interesting aspect.

This is definitely coming from a Den of Apostates perspective, so if that is not a place you want to go, consider this your fair warning. I'm so damn angry and bitter at a lifetime of sex negativity and not-even-subtle misogyny and creepy af messages about "Jesus watches you at all times" ...

It could be that my grandma died this week, or that I'm crazy depressed/anxious, or that a hundred other things have worn me down, but I would wave SO MANY middle fingers in this question asker's face. I'm the original Board apostate, and I suggested a whole bunch of Mormon s**t to my mother for th...

Re: Mental illness is dumber
Yeah, so I got recruited to a dream program starting this fall but my brain has decided that my ex is still sleeping with me but also meeting some chick in San Francisco is the more salient issue. And saying that makes me feel even worse. Like, I really am that much of a doormat. Brains are stupid ...
