Re: An open invitation to anyone who writes fiction

Sorry, no prizes. This is just all in good fun. You retain copyright of your work and, if you desire, the moderator will remove your story from the website at the end of the contest. Which reminds me, today is the last day for submitting stories. So if you're planning on participating, hurry and get...

Abuce or Abuze?

So what does the new "abuse" button do? I'm afraid to "abuse" someone's post (which, actually, sounds kind of fun), until I know what it means. I tried searching informe, but all I found was an announcement that an "abuse" button had been added.

Re: Lost Finale

I thought it was an awesome episode. I just think they could've used another hour to wrap a few more things up. It didn't bother me that Sayid ended up with Shannon. And I understand why Mr. Eko wasn't in that room at the end (read here ), but I sure wish they'd put Michael and/or Walt in. I had act...

Re:

Twice I’ve tried to show why I consider the argument of Garrett and Robinson to be illogical. Let me try again here. They state: This does not indicate that the wine used in the sacrament was merely fresh grape juice. The wine commonly used for the sacrament in the nineteenth century Church was f...

I don’t put much stock in the scriptural commentaries, preferring to “drink upstream before the cows have stepped in it.” Nevertheless Damasta has given us references to at least six doctrinal commentaries on the Doctrine and Covenants, and five out of six support the position of the Church, ...

I haven't seen any particular prevarication about the etymology of words translated as "wine" except from laypeople who try to argue that it could mean anything other than fermented grape juice. To add to the problem, there are words which do designate "unfermented grape juice"....

Here's another: When asked about whether Latter-day Saints who publicly opposed Prop. 8 would be subject to some kind of church discipline, Elder Clayton said those judgments are left up to local bishops and stake presidents and the particular circumstances involved. "All we can say is that the...

So I think this is still on-topic since whoever asked the question essentially ripped it off of Giovanni Schwartz' question, but I've actually had a century egg, too, and they weren't that bad (though I was told they were "horse p*** eggs"). The egg white is pretty tasteless and looks like...

#57683 Runners and their clothing

So I totally understand that clothing affects performance and that that matters to athletes. But I've seen lots of people in tight, skimpy running clothes who definitely aren't athletes. I think that they should use better judgment when choosing their running attire.

Agreed. Psych majors take the cake. I have yet to meet one who didn't have moderate to severe psychological problems of their own. It's where people of odd fit try to fit.

I don't identify with the girl in this thread. For me personally, my greatest hope and dream is to have a wife and kids that love me, and want to do good. If I can manage that, I don't care if we are rich or poor, what I do for a living, what kind of house I live in, if my wife is gorgeous in the e...
