Re: What makes you happy today?
I have been cancer free for just under five years and my doctor actually said it was appropriate for me to use the term "cured"!!!

Re: Transgender Sibling
I feel the similar about having surgery to change your gender as I do about gastric bypass. In either case, I think the patient should be followed closely with a mental health professional before, during, and after the transition/surgery. Also, just like a family member can't force someone to eat he...

If I could sleep for more than 5 hours at night, that'd be great.
I hate having a cold.

Re: Vegas Trip
I'm back and got to do about half the things on my list and wandered around a lot. We also made the mistake of drinking the bottled water at a restaurant. That was an expensive lesson... Bass Pro shops is definitely an outdoor person kind of thing, but it can also be very fun/educational for other p...

Re: the "honor" of tattle telling
I don't know how true this would be since there's not many situations where you could prove that someone else knew of the honor code violations. But then again, from what I understand of how the honor code office prosecutes violators, they don't seem to be very big on the whole evidence thing.

Re: Vegas Trip
I've been twice. Once as a 12-13 year old and once on my honeymoon. Either way, I haven't really done a lot of stuff in Vegas. I'll be on my own for the first day, so I'd like affordable activities for then at least. Overall, I could see the entertainment budget for the weekend being close to $200+ ...

Vegas Trip
I'll be traveling to Las Vegas later this week. Unfortunately, I planned my flight to arrive 5 hours before I can check into the hotel. I plan on having the hotel hold my bags while I wander around town. Any ideas of what to do in the meantime? I plan on downloading Lyft or Uber to get around, anyon...

I posted a reply on the Board Comment Board I have been on Mirena for a year and a half now. I am using it purely for birth control reasons. My period background: Before Mirena and other BC's, I had regular periods lasting 4-7 days with a medium level of cramps mostly in my thighs. I was on the pill...

BQ 87935 about someone processing their father's early, but not totally unexpected, death was answered very nicely, however, as someone who has had major medical issues and has been mocked for taking preventative measures, I can completely relate to the question asker. For some reason, my family th...

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to
Apparently Hulu is subscription only now. I've been a free member for over six years and have watched over 4,000 videos while logged into my own account and plenty more when not logged in and when watching on someone else's account. I have drifted to only watching 1 or 2 shows during the fall while ...

BQ 87798 - I believe my 4xgreat-grandfather is my husband's 5x great-grandfather (but different wives). I think this makes us 5th or 6th cousins once removed.

Also, what sorts of problems exist at BYU-I that could put accreditation at risk? Mostly the awful credit cap. I graduated in mechanical engineering and my professors have mentioned many many times that ABET has been always been concerned about whether or not a school could churn out decent enginee...

I was talking to my dad and he mentioned how Youth Conference went this summer. It reminded me of a time when our theme for Youth Conference was "Steadfast and Immovable" and we were going on a road trip. They wanted to get t-shirts with our theme on a license plate. Steadfast is too big t...

Zed, here's the story of a guy who participated in the beard ban protest a couple of years ago. Fair warning, it's posted in /r/exmormon and there's swearing, but at the time he was mostly just a liberal progressive mormon, not an exmo. An acquaintance from his mission turned him in solely on the b...

Speaking of innuendos, I was part of a juggling group at BYU-I where we would put on a small show each semester. We'd have some juggling mixed in with some divine comedy type skits, but not quite as good. Each year we tended to pick a theme, Twilight, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc. Anyway, th...

I also find it annoying that whenever something mentions righteous people in the last days, it is assumed that LDS people are going to be the only righteous ones. It kind of perpetuates a holier-than-thou attitude and is completely false. Contrary to what some people may believe, you can be a good p...

Re: #87448 - Seven deadly sins
Personally, my weight is far more influence by slothfulness than gluttony. I'm just too lazy to exercise and make healthy meals. Having a physically demanding full time job is what has helped me lose about 15 lbs since March, but I'm still as lazy as ever.
