Farewell dinner

Post by Marduk »

So as has been well established, Cognoscente is leaving our beloved board. It seemed a tragedy to let such a momentous event go unheralded, so I've decided to throw him a farewell dinner. Please post here as an RSVP. This is of course open to all writers and readers alike.

Details:
When: July 9th, around 7
Where: my place. Check the other party thread if you don't remember, or send me a PM.
Why: to say farewell to the board's favorite pot-stirrer.
What: dinner with a menu tbd. I promise not to dissapoint. Ok, that might be a little hard to do. I promise to come up with something good.

Please post if you would be interested, and if you'll be bringing anyone else.

I'll be there. Of course.

I would be interested, as long as you don't mind the newbie showing up. Also, I might bring Hermia along with me. I'll ask her when she gets home.

That would be fine, of course.

I'll do my darndest to show. I mean, it's not every day that we bid farewell to the Board's favorite pot-smoker.

I mean stirrer. P:

Speaking of you cooking, Mard--did you learn how to cook a Caprese salad from Coolio? Because he knows how to teach beeps how to cook.

That sounds tempting. But I'm pretty sure I am busy on July 9th- I will double check.

Oh, why are these things always planned when my ward is having activities? And why do I have to like my ward so much? I will not be coming, due to a ward campout that night.

Update: Hermia and I will both be coming unless she unexpectedly has to work.

Bump. Come on folks, free dinner. Tentative menu for the moment is portabella mushroom burgers and tomato pie.

I'll remind Foreman and CK about this. I imagine that they and stargirl will make it, but I won't commit for them. (Who knows? Maybe they have other friends!) I'll tell them to post before you go shopping tomorrow night, though.

Sad news! Hermia's parents decided to come into town this weekend and she won't be able to make it. I'll still be there, though.

Cognoscente pointed this out to me just now, and I hope it isn't too late to RSVP!

And I won't flake out this time, either. Cause I'm, thankfully, not quitting the Board this week.

Nope, it isn't too late at all. I hope you won't flake out, you only have one day to forget! Looking at the time stamp on your post, about 26 hours. So here's who I'm going to plan on, and that way we have plenty.

Marduk
Cognoscente
Bobtheenchantedone
Indefinite Integral
Gimgimno
TheBlackSheep
Yellow M&M
(possibly, but will plan on having food for them anyways)
Foreman
CK
Stargirl

Menu change as well. No tomatoes ready yet; so we'll still be having portabello mushroom burgers, but the side is going to change. Leaning towards zucchini fries at the moment, but that isn't certain.

Stargirl and I will indeed be there to consume the portions planned for us. Thanks for the invite!
