#53928 The correlation of MBTI scores and position on the PC

Here you go, Commander Keen. I took data when both MBTI scores and position on the political compass were given in answer to this question (#53928) and previous questions to make the following graph for writers, both former and current. The lines connect writers with the same MBTI type. I hope it is nice enough for you.

That's actually really cool. Any correlation seems tenuous, but it's not completely random. I wish we had more data points.

I'm glad you liked my graph. I also would like to see more data points. If anyone would like to be included, writer or reader, please give us your MBTI type and political compass scores, and I'll replot the graph. I think everyone has been using this site http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm for the MBTI, and this site http://www.politicalcompass.org/ for the political compass scores. Here is a summary of reported scores for board writers, and one board reader.

INFJ. It seems to me that I am in good company, with the likes of Coggers, Claudio, and Yellow. Definitely a few of my favorites. (22 62 50 89, in case you were wondering.)

Also, Economic left/right=-1.62 and Social libertarian/authoritarian= 1.44.

Hmm... Interesting. I'm more authoritarian than anyone else.

Last time I took the MBTI I was either INTJ or INFJ. (I had exactly the same score for T and F, and was within three or four on J and P.) Not sure how you'll plot that Vorpal.

I might take the political compass test, and if I do, I'll post the scores here.

Sam, the second letter should be an "N' or an "S." Are you an INFJ or an ISFJ?

I'm an ISFJ (33 75 12 44), which has only caused me trouble. And I didn't really like the political compass test (there are some things I have no opinion on, some things I don't know enough about, and some things that, as a plant geneticist, I am still confused about) but my score was

Economic: -1.5
Social: 0.10

for what it's worth.

Myers-Briggs: INTJ

Political compass:
Economic Left/Right: -2.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.87
This is the result for one of my friends. I posted it on facebook, so hopefully that will get us some results. [ =

Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.36

ENFP 67 75 38 11
I'll keep posting more as I get data back from other people.

I used Mathcad to make the graph. Then I imported it into Photoshop (using Windows copy and paste) to clean it up a bit and add some labels. I was able to save the graph as a jpeg file using Photoshop.

This should be interesting when we get some more data points. I'm encouraged by the response.

Yeah, there are a lot of things I don't like about the tests, but it's fun to see if a picture emerges from the numbers.

Okay, I took the Myers-briggs test again and got ENFJ this time (22%, 62%, 25%, 11%.) Which I'm not too surprised about. Most of them are pretty low percentages and depending on the test and my mood could easily go one way or another. I am kind of surprised that I came out as extroverted this time though.

Also, I took the political compass test and got -1.88 L/R, -2.00 A/L. Again, pretty moderate. Not too surprising.

I axed my friend, in true Halloween style, to take the political test, since he's a quintessential ENTP. You can go on feeling unique (he doesn't even read the Board, let alone write for it, which makes you that much cooler than he is) and we can have more data. Yay data.

Best creeper ever. Thanks, dude. Though, I gotta say, I'm just chillin' out in right field all by myself. I didn't think my ideologies were that different....also, guess I'm the only ESTP or whatever I am. Maybe that explains something....meh.

Gracias otra vez!
