Ok, now you all have my doubting my paycheck. Maybe I'm remembering wrong? Looking at the world through rose-colored glasses? I know I started at a higher-than-average salary, because I trained most of my department on what we were doing before I ever worked there. So they thought I deserved more than entry-salary. And I know I got several raises along the way, because they loved me and couldn't live with out me. (Even to this day, almost 2 years later, they still talk at meetings about how they wish they were back in the Dragon Lady Era. Haha. I love having friends inside those meetings still. But maybe it was just $40k? I… don't remember now. Curse you all for making me doubt my awesomeness! ;)

Only for the first year of marriage. :) Actually, a month or two less. Then Yellow got a job earning more than me and I used my paycheck to pay off all of my student loans. Then Dragon Baby was born and I took 6 weeks off, then worked 6 more weeks, then I was all about turning the bacon-bringing back to Yellow. I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe quitting before Dragon Baby was born… working from home full-time with a newborn is nigh impossible. Never again!

$40,000 / year is roughly $20 / hr. Do you remember what your hourly wage was?

Nope. I was paid salary, not hourly.

Wait—was this when you were involved in that big meth operation? Yeah, you could easily pull down $50,000 a year cooking meth. ;)

If you're only pulling down 50k a year cooking meth, you're doing it wrong.

Why do you think I'm not cooking meth now?

Dear policemen, FBI, and whoever might stumble upon this…

I AM JUST KIDDING! I don't even know what goes into meth. I worked for the LDS Church which is about as far from cooking meth as you can get. Yeesh.

Actually, I'd say freezing meth is as far from cooking meth as you can get.

Heh, you'd need some higher-end appliances to freeze many of the ingredients for meth, so there goes your profit.

Best to go back to the 'working for the church' story. Much more plausible.

62484, for reference.

Good job on working a Simpson's reference in there. Did you use skeleton power?

If I had, I would have thought to include a YouTube link. I'm kinda regretting it now. So I'll make up for it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WlTuerGvOs

An interesting answer to a question I'd never thought about before.
