Might I suggest a more liberal use of emoticons, in such situations? (I thought it was funny, but I may have read more of what you've written here than others have.)SMP wrote:My lame attempt at humor didn't work out. As newcomer, I guess I am not well-known enough here for people to get my humor. I often catch myself before I post patently unfunny jokes like that, but every now and then they slip through.

I too found this thing funny.

It made me chuckle...out loud. But I'm kind of easy. So don't feel too funny.SMP wrote: I often catch myself before I post patently unfunny jokes like that.

While we're talking reactions to SMP's post...
I actually nodded along. "Yeah, if I were as cool as Hypatia, I totally could too! No big deal, really, to fill all those requirements."
But then again, I try to perpetuate the impression that this forum doesn't really like writers by using my own desert sarcasm, so it was on the level.

When a question gets 72 thumbs, I suppose it goes without saying that people liked it. So instead, I'll observe that Baby Bones is getting sooo big!

Thanks, Katya! (Er, I assume that was a compliment, right? Bigger is better, right?) If you ever want to make your way down to the Jersey shore for a summer vacation, you can always babysit (and have a free room-- I don't need four bedrooms...). Baby Bones especially loves people that can speak two or more languages.

Bigger is what we're going for. (But I may feel a bit nostalgic.)Sky Bones wrote:Thanks, Katya! (Er, I assume that was a compliment, right? Bigger is better, right?)

Of course I think of BYU when I think of hip hop. Why wouldn't I?

Hydrostatic pressure. Good stuff.
I never would have thought to build my own fish tank. Now I know why.

I would have found that answer annoying if it had been written by someone else.thebigcheese wrote:http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/63200/

You mean someone who didn't also major in the humanities? And who you already know is being sarcastic?Katya wrote:I would have found that answer annoying if it had been written by someone else.thebigcheese wrote:http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/63200/
