So I think the question asker's way of doing things is actually pretty decent. But I just have to say that at some point when I was very young, like maybe 4, I asked my mom where babies come from. She has a degree in genetics, and I think at some point in the explanation she probably actually told me about sperm and eggs and sex, etc, but being that she's a genetics nerd she went into WAY too much detail about meiosis and chromosomes and DNA and I had no idea what she was talking about.
