eggcorns! :) Yes. I don't know if I believe this is an eggcorn, although... when you rewind a VHS it *does* whine a little, so maybe.

therian

According to the Urban Dictionary, http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=therian

therian

Short for therianthrope a therian is somebody who feels a connection with an animal. Not necessarily an animal from this plane either, although most accepted therians tend to be animals such as wolves or big cats there are some who believe themselves to be unicorns or other mythical creatures.
The connection the person feels with the animal can range from feeling they have been born into the wrong body (similar to those with gender issues) to simply a belief that they were an animal in a past life and still retain some memories or behaviours of said animal.
Therians do not physically become the animal they have a connection with, although some do describe "mental shifts" where they feel their whole thought process becomes that of the animals.

I read this while reading in this site: http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/197671/ ... e-animals/

stepwell - a well or pond in which the water may be reached by descending a set of steps. They are especially common in western India and are designed for areas where the amount of available water varies greatly between seasons, so the step design makes it possible to easily reach the water level, whether it's high or low.

Nice picture, Cindy! It appears that what is at the bottom of the picture is not the bottom of the well, but the ledge the photographer is standing on. That wasn't obvious to me at first.

Also, I hope Squirrel liked the definition of therian.

Gaslighting:
Gaslighting is a form of mental abuse in which false information is presented with the intent of making a victim doubt his or her own memory, perception and sanity. Instances may range simply from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents ever occurred, up to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim.

The term "gaslighting" comes from the play Gas Light and its film adaptations. The term is now also used in clinical and research literature.
