Top 50 Lord of the Rings characters:

I was so obsessed with the books in eighth grade. I still remembered enough to get 30/50, though, not bad.

I got 154 on the countries. Yes, I'm a nerd.
Re: Test your Harry Potter character knowledge
148/195, although I got 6/7 on the most missed. I have a mission to Hawaii to thank for that--and also randomly knowing Comoros because I remember that its capitol is Moroni (oh, and being able to spell Sao Tome and Principe correctly).
I got Equatorial Guinea and missed Kenya. Other embarrassing misses because the map wasn't zoomed in enough: Pakistan AND Afghanistan (super embarrassing), Switzerland, Belgium, Romania, Democratic Republic of Congo (but I got Republic of Congo--go figure), and Taiwan. I got Bosnia and Herzegovina and missed Kosovo. So...basically, I feel like I should have gotten more like 155, but oh well.
Animaniacs helped me a little bit, too--at least getting the early ones quickly without too much thought. Go Yakko.

Old Testament Words: 170/200
3-lettered body parts: 4/10 ... I must be tired.
Numbers: 61/100 first try, 100 on third try)
Plagues of Egypt: Disgraceful. I don't want to tell you.
Common words: 74/100
World religions: 9/21. Would have been 11 if I could spell Zoroastrianism and remember what Baha'i is called. I was surprised by how badly I did on this. Some of it has to do with terminology (I didn't think to classify Spiritism separately from African traditional religions), but wow--1 million Neo-Pagans? 19 million Juche? I didn't even know what that was until I looked it up just now.

16/50 Lord of the Rings. I had to just give up because I couldn't think of anyone.

Too true! I've been impressed with the Baha'i faith, but could n'ever get the apo'strophe in the righ't place.Emiliana wrote:... if I could spell Zoroastrianism and remember what Baha'i is called. 19/50 in 7 minutes of the LotR characters. Could have topped 50% easily if it were an oral quiz.

He who knows himself has discernment.
He who overcomes others has force;
He who overcomes himself is strong. 33:1-4

Wow, I must really like Lord of the Rings. I got 45/50. I missed Amroth, Imrahil, Gorbag, Helm Hammerhand, and Arvedui. I don't even remember what any of them do. I guess I should go read the books again.
Re: Test your Harry Potter character knowledge
23/50 on Lord of the Rings. I got Shelob, so I was totally okay with that score.

Hypatia linked to the most common English words quiz in a question yesterday. I went ahead and did it. I got 67/100.
I keep wanting to take the HP quiz again.

The Harry Potter sporcle quiz is making the rounds again. I am very pleased with my new score of 128.
My biggest frustration was not being able to remember the characters that the little Irish rosettes would squeak out at the Quidditch World Cup.

I'm decorating my house (inside and a little out) as Hogwarts for Halloween. Maybe I should listen to the books all week in honor of it then take this quiz again at the end of the month.
Re: Test your Harry Potter character knowledge
That sounds so cool! What do you think bring the most Harry-Potter-ness to your decor?

Re: Test your Harry Potter character knowledge
Ummm… good question. HP-specific potions, snitches, entrance to the MoM through my toilet, an owlry (sp?), Hogwarts crest … I'll post pictures when I get it all set up and get F-Stop over here.
Re: Test your Harry Potter character knowledge
yesssss I love the idea of decorating your toilet!
