Bluegrass

Post by Eirene »

Anybody have any good bluegrass recommendations? I like it banjo-heavy, and I also really like lots of vocal harmonies. I could kind of go either way on fiddles. I'm open to suggestions that don't necessarily meet all of those criteria, although it would be nice if it met the "bluegrass" criterion, I guess :D

I'll give my recommendations from the 'jamband' field: Leftover Salmon, Yonder Mountain String Band, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.

Mountain Strings. They're the band that accompanies BYU's Folk Dance team. They're amazing, even though their dynamics usually change every year since all of the performers are students.

The Jerry Garcia Band (not the Grateful Dead...his other band) is great.
