(If I'm missing anything here or wasn't entirely clear, could someone provide a full description of the sudden death rules?)

No, that's the size of it. It works kinda like the spelling bees though; either contestant will have to post one more than the other to technically "win" so anyone can post while the count is tied, and whoever is behind can also post.
