The Simpsons marathon has really lifted my spirits this week.
Early to bed and early to rise

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
right now, like, all of them. I need some time to digest it.
Early standouts:
Bangers: My Shot, Immigrants
Ballads: Theodosia #2, Burn
And of course all the demos are fantastic.

Oh man, and History Has Its Eyes On You is just the best kind of pure old school gospel.

Is this a bonus track? Wasn't part of my Amazon Music lineup. :-SCognoscente wrote:Oh man, and History Has Its Eyes On You is just the best kind of pure old school gospel.
Theodosia #1 and My Shot and It's Quiet Uptown are early standouts for me.

Enjoying the Moana soundtrack, too! Still need to see it.
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Moana songs have been in my head for DAYS. (Except "Shiny," which I guess lots of people love? Maybe if you're a Bowie fan, or Flight of the Conchords fan. I'm unfamiliar with both, so there you go.)
The Dakota Access Pipeline is going to be rerouted!
(Assuming they get a jump on it before Trump is installed. Please, please get a jump on it, govt. people!)

That is excellent. Thank you!
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Read an amusing fan fiction theory today. In Star Wars, when the movies always start with "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." That's not a long time before us in a galaxy far from the Milky Way, it's being spoken very far, far in the future by someone who was here but is now telling the story to aliens in a distant galaxy about events that happened in this galaxy in the future as compared to us, which would explain why there are humans in the stories.
The teller of the story is one who was there, who was pretty much always shown as smart, competent, and virtuous. The one telling the story is R2D2.

If I went to an LDS service this Sunday, what would expect? A choral program, right? Am I crazy?

I think most wards did the choral program last week and this week stakes are doing sacrament meeting only.

... Mormons are weird. So, just random talks, then?Zedability wrote:I think most wards did the choral program last week and this week stakes are doing sacrament meeting only.

Christmas themed talks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
My mom told me they are having mostly music this Sunday; it's a ward in Texas.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
The last time Christmas was on Sunday, for the bulk of the meeting, I think we had someone share a thought or two about Jesus, maybe read from Luke, then we'd sing a song or two. Rinse and repeat until the end of the meting.

If you're looking for a good mostly-choral program, look for an Episcopal service. It'll have communion (which you can take if you want or not take if you don't), but probably mostly really good music.Portia wrote:If I went to an LDS service this Sunday, what would expect? Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
My parents' ward is doing all music as far as I know. It probably depends on whatever the bishop thought was best.
