SPOILER ALERT (In case anyone decides they want to see Children of Men)

Waldorf and Sauron - Okay, I really liked Children of Men too! I read the book when I was in high school, and it was different from the book, but the differences didn't even bother me. What did you think of the scene where she gives birth? I couldn't believe that was all just special effects and and animatronic baby! It looked so real. I was really impressed with how believable everything in the film was. Usually those kinds of end-of-humanity movies are a bit over the top, but I think they did a really good job with this one.

Also, the "intimate" scene at the end of Amelie is pretty tame. (It would be tame even for a PG-13 movie, actually.)

It's a couple of short scenes in the middle that garner Amelie its R-rating.

i HAVE to correct rating pending on something he said about "love actually." the subplot about the actors they took out is not about adult film performers. they're body doubles for more famous actors, not porn actors.

Nerdgirl: The birthing scene itself was animated very well, I thought, though there were moments later on when the baby was a little characaturized. That was about my only criticism though - it was an amazing film! Sauron might have something to add too - he's the film student between us, after all.

Katya: As I said, we've never seen it unedited, so we weren't real sure on that one. Thanks for the clarification.

No worries. I think it's interesting that those two scenes could be so neatly removed that you'd never even suspect they were there! (I'm sure that's a commentary on something. What, I don't know . . .)
