I agree with Humble Master that the best Firefly episode was "Objects in Space" (the one with the bounty hunter, which, incidentally, was inspired by Boba Fett of Star Wars fame). The way that Joss Whedon incorporated existentialism and mereological nihilism into the existing themes of the show was nothing short of brilliant. Nihilism isn't a philosophy I personally endorse, but I can appreciate the artistry of the episode. That and the way the bounty hunter thought and talked were refreshingly original. And the way the ending of the episode ties in with everything else was sublime.
But to go along with some of the other writers, Jayne was also a great character with great lines and a real human interest, so I can appreciate that they like Jaynestown.
