Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
I got 10 colonies in an online Dominion game today, while one opponent got two and the other got none. I had 35, a potion, and a gazillion buys one turn. Scrying pool + crossroads is epic. I really want to get my hands on a physical copy of Hinterlands.
Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
So about six or eight months ago, a guy told me he was pretty sure he wanted to marry me. He's now engaged. And not to me.

Oh, I meant to comment on this. It's an interesting situation (not fascinating, but mildly interesting).Emiliana wrote:So about six or eight months ago, a guy told me he was pretty sure he wanted to marry me. He's now engaged. And not to me.
But I mostly came to say that I got home and our water is off and no one seems to know why.

Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
We closed on our house today! Hooray! Hopefully we get our keys tomorrow so we can start moving in minor stuff (food storage and plants from my brother's house, furniture we've bought since then, and all the stuff we've kept up here in Riverton) tomorrow. Then Thursday the movers come, as well as the refrigerator installer and the internet installer.
So, uh, everyone cross your fingers that the mortgage company and the county process papers quickly so that we actually DO get our keys tomorrow. Or I have to reschedule all of those things. And I really, really don't want to do that.

Hooray for a house!
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

I find it humorous that this thread, the one that never seems to die, is entitled "doomed to die".Dead Cat wrote:This is the 365th day of this thread.

Well, rats. I have in my phone an alarm to remind me to change the Random Chatter thread tomorrow but now it won't surprise anybody.

I read that as, "I have a phone in my alarm" and that just didn't make any sense.
Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
I have a date with my S.O., my best friend, her husband, and their unborn child. It's been a long long time since I went out with people, and many of the parties have never met each other, so it's exciting.
Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
Today is my friend's birthday. I saw her a few weeks ago at a baby shower and she mentioned that "only in Utah would you feel like an old maid at 22."
"And you're not even 22 yet!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah I am. I turn 23 at the end of the month," she replied.
"Wait a second . . . you were born in 1989, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, so I'm 22 now and I turn 23 on the 30th."
I didn't press the issue (it's kind of awkward to try and correct someone about something they ought to know better than you). But it sort of seems like if you were worried about being an old maid you would not arbitrarily add a year to your age.

Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
If it makes you feel any better I know that I am 23, having been born in 1988. Although a couple years ago when my friends and I, all born in '88, were 21 one of the girls was talking about how much she was looking forward to her 20th birthday.

They have clothes vending machines in Japan? Funny.
