If A Guy...
Re: If A Guy...
Y'know, if it's not a sapphire, I'm going with a fluorescent diamond.

Curse you, Portia. You have successfully pitted my love of pianos against my hatred of involving materialism in relationships.Portia wrote:If a guy gets me an engagement piano, that's it, I'm in love!!!
Curse. You.
I'm so conflicted about this. Haha.

Fun fact: the first thing that my mom noticed about my dad was that he lived in a house that he helped design and build, and he owned a grand piano.

I'm with your mom. Those are pretty attractive things.yayfulness wrote:Fun fact: the first thing that my mom noticed about my dad was that he lived in a house that he helped design and build, and he owned a grand piano.

It's a thread that's titled "If A Guy..." That means that a lot of romantic, sappy things will be discussed here. Sorry, Marduk. Thanks for putting up with us.

We can bring it back =P
I actually figured it out.
There's three categories: 1) Both people know that it's just as friends. 2) Both people know it's a date, but there's no romance involved. 3) Both people know it's a date with romance involved. The problem comes when the two are in different categories.

Food storage! Wow, quel romantisme.Tally M. wrote:Yay for getting it back on topic somehow
Some of my guy friends believe that the guy should not necessarily get a ring for his wife, and that the money could be better used for something else, say, food storage.

I'm curious if this was in the Upper Midwest.Katya wrote:I'm with your mom. Those are pretty attractive things.yayfulness wrote:Fun fact: the first thing that my mom noticed about my dad was that he lived in a house that he helped design and build, and he owned a grand piano.

My dad was on sabbatical because he was about 40 and still single, and there just weren't many Mormon girls there. So he moved back to Utah for something like a year and met my mom there. But the house and the piano were in the Upper Midwest (and still are).

Cool story. Reminds me of those pioneer books like Sarah, Plain and Tall. Weird thought: my dad was forty when I was a Board writer.yayfulness wrote:My dad was on sabbatical because he was about 40 and still single, and there just weren't many Mormon girls there.
