blood type poll

Post by Portia »

Started wondering pursuant to our other discussion. The sample size is small, but still curious.

I actually have no idea. I'm sure it's somewhere on my medical papers ... my mom probably knows.

No surprise I'm all alone in my A- circle so far. Anyone else out there?

I'm pleased that this lines up with real distributions, small though the sample may be.

Great link! I thought it was interesting that the intro talked about how people don't select mates on blood types. While I haven't selected any "mates" in biological terms, I have asked a boy I dated seriously about his Rh factor. Being Rh-negative and pregnant with an Rh-positive baby can lead to antigen sensitivity if you're not aware.

And yeah, with my parents being A- and O- blood donation is a family habit and something that comes up fairly regularly in conversation.

I've been involved with blood drives since my junior year of high school, and according to my mother, I actually inspired my brother to begin donating blood! Super happy about that :D

I hope taking a blood test isn't as difficult as taking the SAT.

I want to beat the world record for most blood donated. I just have to donate every 2 months for the next 50 years, no problem!
