On amazing animation

Post by wryness »

I saw Song of the Sea with my sister last week and it was so wonderful. It's probably the most beautiful animated film I have ever seen. Definitely needs to be watched in a theater (and it's still showing at Broadway Cinemas in SLC this week, I think!)

Speaking of evocative animation, has anyone here seen Studio Ghibli's The Tale of the Princess Kaguya? I only learned about it recently and I'm really really hoping to figure out a nice legal way to watch it really soon. I can't believe it's already on Amazon this quickly, though. Really really? So excited...

What are your favorite animated films?

I recently watched The Triplets of Bellville on Netflix. It has a "grotesque" aesthetic, and no words. It was kind of interesting.
