This was a fun(ny) question. Just interesting to think about. I thought it would be fun to see what you all asked the board! If you're embarrassed about your first question, maybe say one of your early ones.
How do I not stress as an incoming freshman? CLASSIC! I was 17 when I asked that. A year and a half later I would be a Board writer. Weird! And yes, I did use the nym "Mico" before becoming a writer. Lots of dumb freshman questions, ahhh good times.

I really wanted something to be open all night in Rexburg. At the time, there was only a mexican restaurant that was open until 2am. McDonalds wasn't even open past midnight then and Walmart still closes at 11pm. They're building a new larger Walmart in Rexburg, but even it won't be open all night.

From 2007, questions about how to protect my laptop and data while spending a few months overseas. #tbt to when a 4 gig thumb drive would cost $40.......
That's the first one that I have under my account, but I remembered asking this one a couple of years earlier, from before you had to be registered to ask questions:

Warning: It probably contains a bit of a humblebrag.

Oh man, wet blanket. Was it ever revealed which writer that was?

That wet blanket answer was wonderful.
Did you take the advice from the Board? Interesting first questions everyone!
Shrinky Dink, Rexburg sounds like a very... quiet... place. 2 a.m. is pretty late, though! It is interesting BYU-I's honor code says you have to be in your *own* apartment by a certain time. Just interesting wording.
Emiliana, great #tbt. You were going to just take CDs, craziness. I remember being so excited to put my assignments on CDs in high school and get those cool colored CD cases.
(In elementary school we did floppy disks but we didn't really have assignments, it was like "do a drawing in paint then bring it to class.")

It's pretty clear I'm younger than most of you with this one...

I know I asked some really dumb questions (mostly I tried to be a "clever" asker) but this first one of mine is only a little obnoxious:

I've been bobtheenchantedone for more than a decade now, so it was an obvious 'nym choice.

This was my third one. The first two were not very interesting.

I did, however, ask some paper questions back in the early 2000s. But my first online questions were in 2007.

I did eventually choose one of the guys and we dated for over a year. Uffish was my roommate and she helped encourage me to not be misleading

- Logging out of
Facebook. Lame question, classic answer from Optimistic..
- Peach-pineapple
salsa. Still love it.
- Scholarship
eligibility with tons of AP credit
- First question with
my nym, about an art display in the HFAC. Settled on the nym in 2007. Fun fact: there was a a writer who hadn't survived long with "Portia," but no one seems to know who she was. So I added the "of Belmont."
All these are from 2006, which I think is a bit earlier than most, here.

First online question, rejected. Actually 25% of my first dozen questions were rejected:
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/66624/ - Suggesting Alumni Association as possible home for the board
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/67536/ - Inquiry as to Commander Keen's status
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/67653/ - Inquiry about renaming Popular Questions to Popular Answers
First writer answered question:
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/66625/ - Katya!
Questions in first dozen where a writer earned an Editor's choice for answering:
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/67072/ - Worm origins
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/67537/ - Writer lifespan and boardboard afterlife
https://theboard.byu.edu/questions/67748/ - lagrange points
I read for a number of years before actually asking a question. The possibility of the board going away broke through that barrier for me and I've averaged about two questions a week since then.
