Overly Competitive Game Players

I'll let you decide who you'd consider to be overly competitive.
My first thought when I saw that question was the principle of mutually assured destruction. Sure, it might not help me in the short run if I take revenge on you after you do something harmful to me. But if you know that I am ridiculously vengeful, you'll eventually learn that any benefit you stand to gain from attacking me will be wiped out by my counterattack, making you more likely to leave me alone. Or something like that.
Then again, I'm also one of those people who just goes after whoever is funniest to target, so I probably shouldn't be talking.
