#47186, possible retirement

Post by Nanti-SARRMM »

From what #47186 suggests, it seems that Azriel is contemplating retiring.

I would like to thank her and praise her for her writing, she has been a true force, a genuine cause to those in need, and I hope she decides to stay a little longer.

In any case, I hope you all can can show some appreciation for her writing on the board and maybe offer enough praise to help persuade her to stay on for a little while longer.

Praises unto Azriel!

Indeed!

It certainly seems like a lot of writers are retiring lately. And Azriel has a wonderful playing card, and is pretty good at answering questions as well.

When did werf start being a Writer anyway?

July of '07. I sure hope we will see much more of Azriel. You are right, we have lost a goodly number of top notch writers, and it always hurts to lose another. But life takes precedence and at least we have a healthy (huge imo) number of applicants.

Out of curiosity, how many applicants do you have?

Aww... Azriel...

You're one of the fairly consistent ones. And you do have one awesome trading card!
But thick as you are, pay attention!

/praise? /praise? Just what, exactly, are you trying to say here, dood? (Less cool than DEATH may be very accurate. Yeah, I know who you are.)

Keep up the praises. I'm not convinced. :?

I would write an ode, Azriel, but I'm pretty sure I'd fail very much.

You are definitely a cool person, though, if only because you love Discworld and Death. (He's my favorite character.)
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

Perhaps Orb 360 was using the / as an emote, not as an 'end' signifier.

Lots. Enough that i can't remember all of them, and we have been needing to conscript a sizable portion of Hobbes' Death Squad just to keep tabs on them all.

Eh... bob... You're totally in.

Azriel: Ode to Azriel (to the tune of "Hey Mickey":

Ehmhem.

Oh Azriel, you're so fine,
You're so fine you blow my mind
Hey Azriel! Hey Azriel!

Oh Azriel, you're so fine,
You're so fine you blow my mind
Hey Azriel! Hey Azriel!

Oh Azriel, you're so fine,
You're so fine you blow my mind
Hey Azriel! Hey Azriel!

Hey Azriel!!!

You've been around all night,
And that's a little long.
You think you've got the right,
But I think you've got it wrong.
Why can't you say 'goodnight'
So u can take me home, Azriel!
Please take me home Azriel!

Cuz when you say you will,
It always means you won't.
You're givin' me the chills,
Baby please, baby don't!
Every night you still
Leave me all alone, Azriel!

Oh Azriel, what a pity,
You don't understand!
You take me by the heart
And you take me by the hand!
Oh Azriel, you're so pretty
Why can't you understand?
It's guys like you, Azriel!
Oh, what you do, Azriel
Do, Azriel,
Don't break my heart, Azriel!

Hey Azriel!

Now when you take me by the hooves,
Who evers gonna know?
Every time you move,
I let a little more show!
There's something you can use,
So please don't say 'no' Azriel!

So come on, and give it to me
Anyway you can.
Anyway you wanna do it,
I'll take it like a man!
So please, baby, please
Don't leave me in the down, Azriel!

etc..

Um... /praise is an emote...

You know... something you type into a chat line to represent emotion / action...

/praise
same as
/me praises Azriel

Now we totally need an Emo Orb picture.

And it would be devastating if such an inspiring writer, who has been a beacon of light and hope for so many, decided to leave the Board.

The confusion makes sense though, as some forums use slash commands as emotes (wow, anyone?) whereas html and other codes use slash tags to denote the end of something. It is left up to context in a neutral forum like this one. ie. /cheer or /dance are more typical to show an emote whereas /soapbox or /sarcasm act as a tonal coda.

/wrists is a pun.

if I had wanted to use it as a tag I would have done </praise> lol since the forums don't parse my html proper anyway

Dear Giovanni,

Umm.... wow. Yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say about the uh... "ode."

Also, who knew I was a beacon of light and hope? Oh, the irony of life. But, thanks, xkcd.
