#49566- kiss and run

Post by Quiet Lamb »

I think it is funny that almost the EXACT same thing happened to me (minus the whole jerk backing out of what he started with by messaging me online.) We worked at a summer camp together, and we had a DTR very shortly after, considering we'd see each other every day. He asked me what we were, and I said something similar to, "well, we better be together, because that was my first kiss and I'm not a fan of non-committal anything for the most part." Who does a kiss-and-run to a good friend anyway? What kind of spineless jerk would do that?

Perhaps an awkward one.

What is it called when a friend of yours wants to kiss you the day before he leaves on his mission? When there has never been more than friendship between you for the years you've known each other?
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

The spineless kind of course. ;)

From my perspective, the guy does sound like jerk, like douche, to leave a good friend hanging like that. We only have what "no longer VL" said, so we have to go off that.

From her explanation, I do not think that the dude could have been doing just to fill up the canteen. Maybe he was on empty and decided to go for the kiss and filled up after making out? If he just broke it off after making out for a while, then yes I agree with you all about him being a jerk.

But from VL's tone, it sounded as if he was confused, and thought he genuinely felt things, and either realized in mid kiss that it wasn't going anywhere and didn't know what to think and needed some time to get his head straight.

I do not know, I just do not think that we can judge the guy so harshly. I do feel it was weak and stupid of him chatting online with her about all that. If you're going to apologize, do it in person.
