Grape ice cream
http://100hourboard.org/questions/91606/ This isn't relevant enough for a comment on the board, but a common ice cream in the Philippines is called "ube", which translates to purple. You know how grape candy doesn't taste like grape? This tasted kinda like a new version of artificial grape...

Re: Missionary romances
I know two stories where they noticed each other during the mission, and then later got together. One friend married a guy who was her district leader at one point, but they were very careful about not starting the relationship until after they were both home, and another guy (a friend's parent) wen...

Re: Sexting in the bonds of holy matrimony
Occasional lurker here. Just wanted to chime in on this one. A few of you mentioned keeping the pictures safe. My husband has a separate, encrypted folder on his computer just for our stash. And yes, there is a lot in that stash that I don't want my kids to come across. We both enjoy those photo ses...

Re: #77861 - reading fiction a waste of time?
Hi there. I don't come 'round these parts often- I don't think I've logged in for a year or two. But I happened to stop by notice this thread and thought I would add some background for my question. I thought about adding more details to the question itself, but I didn't want it to be an overly deta...

Re: Return to sender
Dang, I when I typed my response, I honestly thought I was trying to smooth things over with my response, but when I re-read it, I can see two things I omitted. First of all, BlackSheep is who I was thinking about when I said that "the writers over the years do a wonderful job of writing though...

Re: Return to sender
I'm going to stay out of this one, since I got too riled up the last time bob insulted everyone else on here, but I just wanted to throw in my vote that I LIKE that the 100 Hour Board is fairly conservative and written by students. With the BYU name slapped up on top, it has to represent the Univers...

Re: Spring Break
42, we like historical sites and hiking quite a bit. One combination of historical sites and hiking that I love is Gettysburg. That is partially because my 8th grade teachers were obsessed with the Civil War, so going there with them was one of the highlights of my education, but is it always a gre...

Re: Drinking fountain - #71073
My Uncle has one in his backyard up in Salt Lake, and I always thought that was cool. I'm not sure I would put one indoors though. My husband grew up with one of these whales, though, and loved it. We bought them only to find they wouldn't fit on our faucets.

Re: Spring Break
That depends: what is "fun" to you? I was born in Virginia Beach, which is a big spring break town if you want a beach. Then I grew up in the Cleveland area. I would recommend Cedar Point, home of the most awesome roller coasters ever, but they aren't open by that time of year yet. However...

Re: 70863 Dealbreakers
So . . . I'm "buying a pre-made house"? My marriage isn't any work, I'm just coasting, because I'm fulfilled in my marriage and have no desire to have a another person in this relationship? Because to me, the difference is more like whether you used modern tools to build a house or used pi...

Re: 70863 Dealbreakers
It's a higher form of relationship that takes a lot more work but can be much more rewarding. By referring to it as a "higher form of relationship," you're implying that "successful" polygamy (i.e., people who are happy in a polygamous relationship) is somehow superior to "...

Re: 70863 Dealbreakers
Let's say your husband had a best friend. This is a guy he hung out with a lot, he discussed all big decisions with him, they played video games together, etc. Would you be jealous of him and the time they spend together? Would you want him to break contact with this friend? Let's say that this fri...

Re: 70863 Dealbreakers
The exact problem is that you ego-centrically think of polygamy as your husband who is all yours having some tramp, some "piece on the side," and I think of it as a mutual and loving relationship where all are equally loved and benefited. . . And don't forget that you yourself saw red fla...

Apparently you should have extended the list. I saw the wooden board in 2000.

Um, do you mean currently? Because school was a long time ago for me, yo. So listing the last level of school I finished does not tell you my age.

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to
Sure, but I think it's significant that the story wouldn't be nearly as powerful if we had to edit out all of the "bad" stuff. Yes. Now that I'm no longer an orthodox Mormon, one of my biggest pet peeves is the idea that everything needs to be G-rated. It bothers me that someone can watch...

Re: talking about race - 70775
And I know this isn't a race thing, but it reminds me of a conversation with one of my ASL professors. She was shocked that none of the class would approach a blind person to ask them about being blind, or a black person about being black, or go up to a deaf person to chat with them because we'd le...

Re: Name chains
My mom did this all the time. I remember her remarking that in the beginning, she would start with the oldest boy's name and work her way down until she found the kid she wanted to talk to, but by the time I was in high school and the oldest was long gone off to college and life and married, she had...

Most of the time I prefer you guys all imaginary. I met a few of you once, and I would probably do it again once or twice, but . . . having internet, imaginary people is fun.
