Re: #73327 - Board writers demographic and location

I was not a current student when I was hired as Waldorf. But I used applying as a team with Sauron as my way to circumvent that rule, and I had been a writer before while I was a student. So...if you can figure out how to work me into your tally, there you go.

Service and kids

Does anyone have favorite acts of service that are child friendly? Right now visiting the elderly is about all that I've got.

iPods and races

Do people generally bring their iPods on 5ks, 10ks, and so on? I imagine they do. What about those 5ks where they throw color on you, in the style of the festival of colors? I'm doing one of those tomorrow, and I run better with music and feedback from my running app, but a) I'm wondering if it will...

Re: panhandlers

I've made it a personal policy to always give if I have anything, and I have my children help me give if I deem it safe (though, due to more than one public safety warning about various illnesses among the homeless in the LA area, we always use hand sanitizer if there's skin contact). I keep a case ...

I just finished the second Ender's Game prequel, Earth Afire. I appreciate OSC's ability to make hard sci-fi approachable and thrilling. I'm a fangirl.

Looking at that list of sequels that are better...I have a big beef with Aliens being listed as better than Alien.

Re: # 72717 Movie trends

First Class was a prequel. And also a terrible, terrible movie.

(sorry mico, your opinion is invalid)

But a few sequels that are great, off the top of my head: Gremlins 2. Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Most of the Muppet movies.

Oh man, speaking of children being dirty when they sin, the object lesson in sharing time in primary today drove me absolutely nuts. It was literally a clean jar being filled with dirt, and even after removing the dirt for repentance, "it's still dirty, so it's best just not to sin in the first...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

I'm selling my wedding dress on craigslist and just got an email from a girl today who's interested. But she told me she's a certain size-ish, which is 2 sizes bigger than the dress. And I posted the dress size in the ad. I don't really know how to handle that. Is it rude to say something like it f...

I'm a huge fan of my pill, Wellbutrin. My brother and my dad are also on it, and they love it, too. My brother put it well when he said that it doesn't cure all your problems or keep you from having bad days, but it does put it all within in the "I can handle this, this is normal" realm. I...

Re: Still close to high school friends?

It seems that all roads lead to LA, so I've actually been fortunate to see most of my close high school/college friends at some point or another since I've moved here. My best friend from high school, as I've said before, is in the Lumineers, so he comes through often to play shows and I get to see ...
