Re: Carpe Diem

4 minutes, by Madonna. Kind of. Less of a "get your kicks while you're young sense" and more "the world is going to end in a few minutes so let's have us some sexy times first."

The question didn't specify, so I didn't specify when I talked to my mom. *shrug*

Re: Answers I liked

I mean, obviously they wear their hair up at rehearsal, and, usually, while performing. I think there's just a personal prejudice against ponytails from that particular director, and so if you're auditioning, it's in your best advantage to look more put-together.

Re: Answers I liked

It's a touring folk dance thing. My mom knows the directors, and that's the advice she gave me. Apparently one of them is really big on appearance and thinks ponytails are sloppy and lazy.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

Huh. I got SLC, Spokane, and Minneapolis.

I'm from Orem, so SLC is a pretty good guess...and...um..I had a roommate from Spokane once? And...I spent about 30 minutes in the Minneapolis airport one time...?

Not sure what the common thread is between those three cities...

So, it says I have to have a NYTimes subscription to take this test...do y'all have subscriptions, or is it just being weird for me?

I have the clothes if anyone wants to come look through them. Just PM me. I've staked my claim on a few items, but there's still a lot left.

Re: 73839-- Board Movie

So...we finished writing this late Saturday night, and the following morning I go to my ward, and who is there but Matt Meese. Like, in the flesh. I had this irrational moment where I was terrified that if we made eye contact he would know I'd been writing a story where he was an evil overlord. So.....

Thanks! :) That particular line was Tally's brainchild, and I had about the same reaction when I first read it.

Re: Origin for last time - first time quote

So, I actually saw a lot of those quotes when I was researching the question, with the earliest date being 1996. When I saw that it was in a Van Halen song, I foolishly assumed that it was a song from the 80s. Turns out Van Halen is still making music. Who knew?

Re: #73267 - Trans sibling

I don't see any way to square an acceptance of transgender identities with the Family Proclamation as it stands. Any mainstream Mormon's going to believe that gender is an eternal, immutable, matches-chromosome characteristic. In fact, I was surprise that the Board answer wasn't more ... harsh than...

TBS: honestly, the entire time I was writing that answer I kept wondering what you would think of it. Thank you so much for your feedback. This was a really hard question to answer and it means a lot that it's sparked this much discussion.

Ahem. Ron Swanson and Dwight Schrute bffs forever. The mere suggestion made my day.

Also, I'm too lazy to link to the question. Apologies.
