Re: D & C

The way people often pronounce it, you could also think they were talking about the DNC. Although I have a difficult time imagining a conversation where that sort of confusion would make sense...

Re: #78280 breast size / transgender individuals

Just like I think people should be afforded the courtesy of being called by the name they think best represents them, trans* people should be addressed using the pronouns they personally identify with best. And if someone is, for whatever reason, totally opposed to using preferred pronouns, there a...

Your Interpretations of the Word of Wisdom

The WoW specifically says that "hot drinks are not for the body or belly" (D&C 89:9), which is generally interpreted as a prohibition of coffee and tea. Since products like coffee ice-cream are neither hot nor drinks, does that make them okay for consumption? If not, does the statement...

Re: Common Core (NOT a debate!)

I know a lot of people who help develop math curriculum for elementary schools, and the main complaint I've heard about Common Core is that the focus on standardization can discourage people from doing extra. This is all second-hand and probably poorly remembered, but I think I remember hearing abo...

That's like feeling rebellious for listening to Barenaked Ladies.

Have you tried the book version of Possession? It made it very clear that academic work isn't always particularly exciting.

Re: Pranks

Our stake did girl's camp in a very raccoon-y area. Once, a leader brought a stuffed raccoon with her, and, while everyone was out hiking, put it in a first year's sleeping bag so that the tail was poking out. We were at the next campsite over and could hear the screams when she discovered it that n...

That's what I've been doing! If the archives weren't so entertaining, I'd probably be sort of disappointed right now.

Re: Introduce Yourselves!

Re: Introduce Yourselves!

I've actually been around for a month or so, but I was a bit reluctant to start a conversation, so:
Hi! I'm robotfish! I like reading, hiking, and naps. I hate bananas. My dream pet would be a really friendly, cuddly, non-vicious tiger.
