Re: Kids and Santa

Not to rain on the parade but I think this is terribly cheesy... I guess I don't really get warm fuzzies from the ideal of Santa. Yeah, i agree, it's pretty cheesy. :] But i don't think it's much cheesier than talking about the love of Christ or spirit service being within everyone, which is what C...

Re: Kids and Santa

I realize i'm a little late to the party, but i found this . It's pretty much how my parents explained Santa to me, too. I feel that this way, we got all the positives of Santa (parents got to see how surprised and happy we were, i got to exercise my imagination and belief in the unseen, etc.) witho...

Re: The Ward Flirt

Dude, story of my high school life. Almost all of my friends were guys (thus, all adults were like omg, such a flirt!), but if i'd had any REAL idea how to flirt, i could've gone after / gone out with some nice guys instead of the losers i ended up dating. >______>

Re: #63712 ~ THE NAGE

Dude, Adaptation is in INCREDIBLE movie, though how could it not be with Meryl in it? Good point. I will add it to my (extremely long) to-watch list. As for Raising Arizona , it came out before i was born… but the screenshot of its trailer on the imdb page made me giggle! I might have to watch that...

#63712 ~ THE NAGE

Ahahahaha, this question amused me. Nicholas Cage (or the Nage, as i'm fond of calling him) is my most favorite actor to mock. :D Most recently i watched Kick @$$ (not sure if i'm supposed to censor the title or not, so i'm going the only-sort-of-censored route :P ), in which the Nage has a pretty p...

Re: Kissing scenes ~ #62051

I like the SyFy Alice/Hatter one better, and I've never even seen that show. I've seen it myself, and I highly recommend it. There are a few, very small moments where the plot is stretched a little too thin, but the acting is spot-on! What I love the most about it is how realistically Alice's react...

Re: Kissing scenes ~ #62051

Back on topic, for a while I was quite fond of the almost-kiss in the rain scene of the most recent P&P. link In fact there were several moments in this movie that would move me to girlish glee. There may have even been some squeeing involved. *embarrassing fact for the day* Gahhhhhh. Almost-ki...

Kissing scenes ~ #62051

I don't really think of myself as a super-girly-girl (not that i'm tomboyish, either--i like to think i strike a fair balance), but this person has discovered my ULTiMATE WEAKNESS. This one is my current favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If7yzsrEIEM [Just a heads-up for those who may care: th...

Re: Leggings question

Once upon a long time ago, my mom was in high school. The school rebel/fashion diva decided it was fashionable to wear mini skirts. This was in the 60s. The school board decided to ban mini skirts. So she then decided that granny dresses were the hip thing. Sleeves to your wrists. Skirt to your ank...

Re: #61726

right... I'm fond of the theory that creepiness just depends on the level of undesirability Oh, i can certainly agree with this. But i have seen good-looking guys act in a creepy manner, and i've seen not-so-good-looking guys behave charmingly. Maybe they're exceptions to the rule. I'm just trying ...

http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/61726/ So, iWannaMeetYa said I want additional ideas of meeting girls without them creeping out over new guys talking to them. How do BYU ladies feel about new guys eating with them at the cougareat or any other place at BYU? And I flipped because I, personally, th...

Your dad got being a sap from your mom? How did that work, exactly?
I'm guessing because she makes him watch chick flicks. The real tear jerker ones.

Re: #61279 - Best of 2010

Actually, Metacritic works differently than Rottentomatoes—a 93% on metacritic is much stronger than a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes because reviews are translated into percentages. O RLY? I thought it was just like RT. Well, even better for Kanye! P.S. When i said "don't knock Kanye" i meant hi...

Re: #61279 - Best of 2010

AAAAND Cognoscente loses all credibility for including Kanye West on the list. Hey, don't knock Kanye. That album still has 93% on Metacritic. ( http://www.metacritic.com/music/my-beautiful-dark-twisted-fantasy ) That means out of ALL the critics who reviewed it, only 7% disliked it even a little (...

#61279 - Best of 2010

http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/61279/ Wow, i don't think i've ever once disagreed with Commander Keen on music matters. Up to now, it has seemed that our tastes are exactly the same. But i don't get why he and Eirene think This Is Happening is really the best album released this past year. I mea...
