Re: #86717 Scrimper wife with a flippant husband
I asked this board question, and in retrospect it was kind of dumb to ask. The Board writers are predominantly college students, and lack the post-collage financial experience to draw from and base good advice on. I was particularly annoyed by some of the "his money" "your money"...

Re: Just don't know what to do with myself.
I really did read all of this a while ago, so thank you for taking the time to talk with me. I have some responses, and then an update at the end, for those who wish to skip down. Is there somewhere you want to be in 1 year or 5 years or 10? If so, I would look at what you need to do to reach those ...

Just don't know what to do with myself.
So leaving the church would be really hard. And by that I mean, dealing with people (/family) trying to bring me back into the fold would be really taxing (...annoying, embarrassing, take your pick). And I'm not into doing difficult things. But, as it turns out, complacent inactivity is fairly easy....

I find myself quite adept at finding flimsy reasons to skip church this month. Should probably stop practicing that particular skill.

Re: My tagline
Might it have had something to do with this post?

Re: Censorship
i think that was smart. in my humble opinion, rape is NEVER the victim's fault, no matter what the circumstances are. that would have certainly led to me thinking less of those writers. This is clearly goign to be an unpopular opinion, and I'm not sure how wise it is to dip my toe in this one. But....

Re: Baby carriers?
I've also heard good things about the the Ergo baby carrier (comfortably, easy to put on, etc.). My sister wants a Baby Bjorn Carrier. But both of those options are incredibly pricey. I'd say try the sling thing for a while and see if you can make it work for you?

Re: #60149 Dishwasher vs Handwashing
On a slightly related note, anyone else had trouble with the new phosphate-free dishwasher detergent? More and more of my extended family is quitting the dishwasher because the new soap won't get the dishes clean. I've been using Cascade Action Pacs with Dawn for the last year or so, and they're ph...

What all works for you? What all have you tried? What can you suggest? I generally try ignoring it, pretending it doesn't exists, and hiding it from my friends and loved ones. That way, nobody but me has to suffer becasue of it. That is probably not the healthiest option out there, but I hate feeli...

You guys are sweet. Thanks for all the words of advice. :) In other words, if you're not happy, you're less likely to find a mate. Because happiness is attractive. I think telling me to be happy is cheating, though. If I work on being happy, it will probably be easier to find a guy, and then I'll st...

I think the thing is that you can't assume that you're going to be a full-time mom. You can't build your life around that. You have to assume you're going to be a career woman, even if that's not what you want. Because if you don't get married, guess what? Or what if you get married, but then can't...

I'm finp. I've asked a few questions of the Board recently, and been lurking a bit on this message board. I've been contemplating registering for online dating sites. I think I'm gaining weight, and it makes me sad when the WiiFit calls me obese. I'm not a very good memeber of the Church right now. ...

It is so easy for either side to villainize the other. I think it is so important to remember that people find happiness and fulfillment in very different ways. I know many women who are completely satisfied with a domestic life. I also know many women, myself included, who would feel unfulfilled n...
