Vera's ponytail
My theory is that it's actually a growth - a literal "tail," if you will - that protrudes out of the back of her head. How else could we describe why a 30-year-old career woman (yes, named Vera) wears a ponytail every day? I think Dawn would actually be okay if she didn't wear ugly t-shirt...

on a completely unrelated note...
Do any of you read Mary Worth?
If so, I think the last week or so is definitely worth discussing...that crazy, two-timing Dr. Drew! Go Dawn!

The new old FBOFW
So far, I've actually liked it. At least it's better than 2 straight weeks of poor-Iris-and-stroke-puns or LJ's trademark last-panel-repeats-second-to-last-panel-with-a-gaggy-twist. Some of the flashback ones have done that, I guess, but they've felt fresher than anything else LJ's done for a while....

Re: Ridiculous shorts and bad table manners
DC, I agree with you. Liz's examples of "trying to change him" were that Therese tried to help him dress better and politely asked him to eat more politely? Oh, the horror. In my opinion, dressing and table manners aren't really intrinsic parts of someone's personality. In fact, I think it...

Today's last panel
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
My goodness. LJ uses a week for Shannon to to finish her cafeteria speech, but it only takes 2 days for Liz and Botox-Gran to move from "Hi, can we dance?" to making out somewhere. Well, at least it finally happened. When's their wedding, tomorrow?

What are we supposed to call him now? Certainly not just plain "Anthony"...

Portia, that is EXACTLY what I thought of when I read the strip! Finally, after 2 1/2 weeks of stroke-recovery puns (did she just copy the same strip with blank speech bubbles and fill them in with various sappy speeches?), we're back to the Canadian soap opera drama we love! Based on our last encou...

Hooray! FINALLY, we can get to the fated conclusion of Lizthony (Portia, I like it)! I'm actually really liking the way this is playing out. Yeah, it's kind of predictable, but I am SO glad that Granthony had actually taken some initiative to do something besides mope around for Liz. Ha! Now, the qu...

The plot thickens...
I know! Do you think Liz will tell on her?
(Finally, something besides "we're moving" and a bad pun on the last frame.)

Winky winky
Well, Mr. Winky, like every other man in Canada, is living his life based on the possibility of eventually getting with Liz. That's probably why he and his wife moved next door in the first place: He's had his eye on her since he was just a middle-aged pediphile. Now, of course, he wants Liz's paren...

Gerald and April
Yeah, what was up with the whole recent Gerald/April thing? (And why doesn't Gerald have a personality? --oh, wait, that's this comic strip.) I was enjoying the juiciness of Gerald showing up to April's with a bottle of wine and getting her to make out on the bed, and then the parents came home--and...

Liz: where will she find love? Granthony/Warren
First of all, Liz just bugs the heck out of me. I don't know if it's that she doesn't have enough dimension, or what - she just seems so self-satisfied so much of the time that it's hard for me to really like her. So, I kind of rejoiced when Paul dumped her, because I guess it kind of destroyed her ...
