Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

Remember the part when xkcd's "Time" kept updating every hour since March? It's reached the end at over 3,000 frames.

Re: What is this song and where is it from?

It seems like that is on the right track, but it doesn't quite hit it--but that just might be because it's a different singer. The recording was too high and slow and I think the intervals on the part that sounds most familiar were slightly different. I can't really tell for sure until we can nail d...

What is this song and where is it from?

Okay, there's this song that I'm pretty sure is about a guy who wants to marry a girl but not all of her family. I think there's a line somewhere along the lines of "but there's her father and her mother and her sister and her brother..." which is too fast for me to be sure that's how it g...

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to

I kind of hesitate to recommend this (mainly because of language) but I have recently discovered something called Thug Notes, in which a straight up gangsta talks classic literature. Yes.

Re: Dropping out of school (inspired by mico)

I changed my major after being in it for three and a half years and I wish I had left it sooner since it had been adding too much stress to my life. On the other hand, sometimes I regret that I didn't hold out a little longer and finish what I set out to do (not to mention that, in my case, Civil En...

And my greatest accomplishment of the day is not being a vampire. It just took me until the wee hours of the morning to do it, which probably means I've just exchanged one kind of vampirism for another. #NoviceGamerProblems

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

I've been doing Camp Nanowrimo and I just realized that I have a mysterious omniscient genre savvy amnesiac narrator. If I ever edit the draft, I'll probably get rid of them unless I find out that they're actually important.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream

I don't normally take naps, but I did today and I dreamt that Elder Bednar had long blond hair while giving a talk and I had to sing with the choir while wearing a weird felt shawl thing. And I didn't know the song so I had to sightread and ended up being the only one singing, as everyone else start...

Wow, I ignore the Board for a couple months and everything's different. Welcome back, Vorpal! And congrats to everybody for everything that I most certainly did read and not just skim over... Okay, I skimmed a lot, but y'all have had plenty going on while I've been not here.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream

My dreams were strange last night. 1. I had to sneak out of an endowment session because I haven't been (and was not ready to be) endowed yet. 2. For some reason we were moving my grandpa's body to a different casket even though he'd been dead for years and he started moving--apparently he'd had bee...

Re: Birth Control and Weddings

I started taking birth control pills since my periods were really irregular and I think one of my cousins took them before she was married (no idea if she still does now) for similar reasons. Marduk, I think that your gut reaction is probably somewhat correct, though not as much as you think. I just...
