Re: #79858—In Which Concorde Almost Made Me Cry

Haha thanks. I was reallllly tempted after that question came in to be really obnoxious and then mention him in literally every answer, but then I realized that I would end up driving myself nuts first.

Re: #79858—In Which Concorde Almost Made Me Cry

Hah, no, you have a fair point. I got over it relatively quickly. Literally, by the time I finished the answer I was like "Okay, over it. Time to go clean out that black widow cage." I did get a nice response for some readers over e-mail and here, so that gave me some warm fuzzies as well....

Re: #79858—In Which Concorde Almost Made Me Cry

I was willing to entertain that thought, but I still don't find it to be funny. I find it terribly interesting, however, that the question was asked twice by the same person, to different writers. It makes the question come off as more malicious than what you suggested. Also the "Humbug" t...

Fist bump!

Also I read that really wrong and thought your mother had birthed a cat like dog and was mildly horrified.

Re: #79670 - zero population is the answer, my friend

I agree with a lot of what's being said here. Large families are almost a status symbol, instead of something the parents actually were capable of caring for and wanting just for the joy of having several children. My family had five kids and my mother was NOT fit to be a mother. She admitted dislik...

My answers can either be factually correct or really empathetic-- you don't get both for free. ;)

Re: would you date outside your religion?

Not related to the topic, but Portia, Katya, Concorde and anyone I missed...Dating is hard and I'm rooting for you! Hah, thanks. Things have changed since I posted my impassioned rant in this thread. I've now been dating my boyfriend for about a month, and we'd been seeing each other non-exclusivel...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10

I just got a second interview with a major financial firm-- but they want to fly me out to their firm for the interview. And I'm freaking out. I'm not even old enough to legally drink and I'm getting flown places for major interviews with major companies. Eep!

Re: Rant of the Day

Yeah... it's okay though. My parents have gotten better about it and my younger siblings don't have to deal with it. The thing is, I don't feel that much animosity towards my roommate right now. I mean, if she started yelling, I would yell back and it would re-escalate, but I don't hate her or even ...

Re: Rant of the Day

I know. It's a terrible mode of thought but I don't know how to shake it and it's why I've been in do many abusive relationships before. It's just easier to blame myself and I've become so used to that kind of behavior that I start to have trouble distinguishing between what's normal and acceptable ...

Re: Rant of the Day

Yeah... Just took me a long time to realize it. And I mean, there were good times and I considered her my best friend, but man... She's a pretty self centered person. I mean she did like me- it wasn't completely just using me-- she just didn't appreciate me.

Re: Rant of the Day

I just got in a friendship-ending fight with my roommate over feminist stuff. The RS pres in our ward sent out this survey with this silly paragraph at the beginning that was just very childish and infantalizing and it bothered me so I bounced that idea off my roommate and she flipped out on me. Lik...

You're welcome! I actually really enjoyed writing the answer. I find it absolutely fascinating and also didn't want to do homework, so that's what I did instead.

Goodbye Sheebs and Stego Lily!

We are losing two fantastic writers today and I am very sad, but also very happy for the two of them because they are going on to great experiences. Sheebs is headed back to Canadia where she will do Canadian things in a Canadian fashion. Maybe one day she will return to us! I will miss my little me...

Yeah... I keep getting me. Even changing my answers up slightly, I still get me.

I guess I know myself really well.

And I also keep getting my alt nym "The Magic Conch Shell" only because that actually IS my alt nym.

Re: Baking with Coffee

Yeah, I wouldn't really trust the baking advice and opinions of someone who regularly enjoys pizza Lunchables and Uncrustables... It's still a personal decision as to whether or not you think eating small amounts of espresso violates the WoW but either way, I prefer my chocolate sickeningly sweet, s...

Re: Youth Activities in the Church

I originally had a response to that question written up but I was asked to edit it (it is rather aggressive and comes off as anti-church) and due to laziness I just deleted it. Here it is below: "Dear Feminism, I wish to reassure you that your experiences and frustrations are valid. Haleakala o...

(Totally tangential, but I just got my copy of Madam Bovary in French in the mail today and I thought you would understand how excited I am to read it. Okay. Back to regularly scheduled programming).
